The UAE’s Founding Father, the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, forever remains in the hearts of the people of the UAE. As he led efforts to establish the Union, laid its foundations, and nurtured its development, his life and legacy were defined by his vision, generosity, and service to humanity. Today, we declare 7 January as Zayed the Founder Day, a new annual national occasion dedicated to celebrating his enduring legacy, transforming wisdom into action, and ensuring these values continue to inspire our nation on its steadfast path of progress towards the future.

سيظل الوالد المؤسس الشيخ زايد بن سلطان آل نهيان، طيب الله ثراه، حاضراً في وجدان شعب الإمارات. قاد جهود تأسيس الاتحاد وأرسى دعائم الوطن على الوحدة والإخلاص والعطاء، وغرس في قلوب أبنائه قيماً أصيلة نعتز بها ونفخر، وترك إرثاً خالداً من الحكمة والبصيرة والرؤى الثاقبة. واليوم نعلن السابع من يناير من كل عام يوم زايد المؤسس مناسبة وطنية نستحضر فيها هذا الإرث الثري ونغرس مبادئه في نفوس الأجيال ليظل دائماً مصدر إلهام لطريقنا نحو المستقبل.

Aujourd’hui à Abou Dhabi, j’ai assisté, aux côtés du président Romuald Wadagni, à l’échange de l’accord de partenariat économique global entre les Émirats arabes unis et la République du Bénin. Cette étape majeure renforce la coopération entre nos deux pays et ouvre de nouvelles perspectives en matière de commerce, d’investissement et de croissance partagée. Les Émirats arabes unis restent résolument engagés à bâtir des partenariats à l’échelle mondiale au service du progrès et de la prospérité pour tous.

Today in Abu Dhabi I was joined by President Romuald Wadagni (@WadagniRomuald) to witness the exchange of a Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement between the UAE and Benin, an important step in strengthening cooperation between our two countries and expanding opportunities for trade, investment, and shared growth. The UAE remains focused on building global partnerships that promote prosperity and progress for all.

شهدتُ اليوم في أبوظبي وفخامة الرئيس روموالد واداني إعلان اتفاقية الشراكة الاقتصادية الشاملة بين دولة الإمارات وجمهورية بنين، في خطوة نوعية للارتقاء بعلاقات التعاون بين البلدين، وتوسيع فرص التجارة والاستثمار والنمو المشترك. نهج دولة الإمارات الراسخ والمتواصل بناء الشراكات التنموية الطموحة التي تدعم تطلعات شعبها وشعوب العالم نحو مستقبل أكثر تقدماً وازدهاراً.

Today I was pleased to meet with Prime Minister of Singapore @LawrenceWongST in Abu Dhabi to discuss opportunities to strengthen the UAE-Singapore Comprehensive Partnership across diverse sectors, including investment, economic cooperation, energy, technology, and education. Through continued dialogue and the exchange of expertise, the UAE is committed to working with Singapore to foster further prosperity, sustainable economic growth, and development for our nations and peoples.

خلال لقائنا اليوم في أبوظبي، بحثت ومعالي لورانس وونغ رئيس وزراء سنغافورة فرص تعزيز الشراكة الشاملة بين بلدينا، والعمل على توسيع آفاق التعاون في المجالات ذات الأولوية الإستراتيجية بما في ذلك الاستثمار والتعاون الاقتصادي والطاقة والتكنولوجيا والتعليم، كما تبادلنا وجهات النظر حول القضايا المشتركة وسبل تعزيز الاستقرار والسلام في المنطقة والعالم. سنغافورة تجربة تنموية متميزة والإمارات حريصة على تبادل الخبرات معها في هذا المجال بما يعزز الازدهار المشترك للبلدين.

Lors de notre rencontre aujourd’hui à Abou Dhabi, j’ai discuté avec le président Emmanuel Macron des relations historiques et stratégiques entre les Émirats arabes unis et la France, ainsi que des moyens de les renforcer au service de notre prospérité commune. Nous avons également évoqué les évolutions régionales et les efforts en faveur de la paix et de la stabilité dans la région et dans le monde. Les relations entre les Émirats arabes unis et la France reposent sur des fondements solides. Nous sommes déterminés à continuer de les faire progresser et à renforcer notre partenariat à long terme, afin de bâtir un avenir meilleur pour nos deux pays et nos deux peuples.

During our meeting today in Abu Dhabi, I discussed with President @EmmanuelMacron the historical and strategic bonds between the UAE and France and ways to reinforce ties to support shared prosperity. We also addressed regional developments and opportunities to promote peace and stability in the region and worldwide. The UAE-France partnership is built on strong foundations, and we are committed to advancing joint efforts to achieve a better future for both countries and peoples.

خلال لقائنا اليوم في أبوظبي، بحثت وفخامة الرئيس إيمانويل ماكرون العلاقات التاريخية الإستراتيجية بين الإمارات وفرنسا وسبل تعزيزها بما يدعم الازدهار المشترك، إلى جانب التطورات الإقليمية والعمل من أجل السلام والاستقرار في المنطقة والعالم. العلاقات الإماراتية-الفرنسية تقوم على أسس قوية وحريصون على مواصلة دفعها إلى الأمام وتعزيز شراكتنا التنموية طويلة الأمد من أجل مستقبل أفضل للبلدين والشعبين.

Sincere congratulations to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz, Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, and the Saudi people on winning the Arabian Gulf Cup. I also commend the high level of sportsmanship shown by both the Saudi and UAE teams during the final. I commend the successful organisation of the tournament and wish Saudi Arabia continued success in future sporting competitions.

On World Teachers' Day, I express my appreciation and gratitude to teachers across the UAE and commend their role in shaping future generations. Let this day be an opportunity for all of us to recognise our teachers and thank them for the lasting impact they have had on our lives.

في اليوم العالمي للمعلمين أعبر عن التقدير والامتنان للمعلمين في الإمارات وأثمن دورهم في تحقيق أهداف رؤية التعليم وارتباطها بالمستقبل الأفضل الذي نريده لشعبنا، وأتمنى لهم التوفيق في رسالتهم التعليمية والتربويّة النبيلة ومواصلة دورهم في بناء أجيال واثقة بقدراتها متمسكة بهويتها وقادرة على مواكبة متطلبات المستقبل. وليكن هذا اليوم فرصة لنا جميعاً لنتذكر معلمينا ونعبر عن الوفاء لهم. شكراً لكل معلم ترك أثراً لا يُنسى في حياتنا.

I extend my sincere condolences to Mohammed bin Rashid on the passing of his brother Sheikh Ahmed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, whose longstanding contributions to the development of the UAE since its founding continue to inspire our nation’s journey of progress. May God rest his soul in eternal peace and mercy and grant his loved ones comfort during this difficult time.

خالص التعازي والمواساة إلى أخي محمد بن راشد وعموم آل مكتوم الكرام في وفاة المغفور له بإذن الله الشيخ أحمد بن راشد آل مكتوم، ستظل مآثره حاضرة في الذاكرة وإسهاماته الوطنية شاهدة على مسيرة حافلة بالعطاء، نسأل الله له الرحمة والمغفرة وأن يسكنه فسيح جناته ويلهم أهله الصبر والسلوان.

Heute habe ich in Berlin Bundeskanzler Friedrich Merz getroffen, um zu erörtern, wie die Vereinigten Arabischen Emirate und Deutschland ihre Zusammenarbeit ausbauen können – insbesondere in den Bereichen Wirtschaft, Innovation, Technologie, erneuerbare Energien, künstliche Intelligenz, Kultur und Bildung. Außerdem haben wir über regionale und internationale Entwicklungen gesprochen und darüber, wie wichtig es ist, einen dauerhaften Frieden in der Region und weltweit zu fördern.

Today in Berlin I met with German Chancellor Friedrich Merz (@_FriedrichMerz) to explore opportunities to expand cooperation between the UAE and Germany, particularly in the fields of the economy, innovation, technology, renewable energy, artificial intelligence, culture, and education. We also discussed regional and international developments and the importance of advancing sustainable peace in the region and around the world.

التقيت اليوم في برلين معالي فريدريش ميرتس، مستشار جمهورية ألمانيا الاتحادية، حيث بحثنا العلاقات التاريخية بين بلدينا والعمل المشترك لتطويرها خاصة في مجالات الاقتصاد والابتكار والتكنولوجيا والطاقة المتجددة والذكاء الاصطناعي والثقافة والتعليم، بما يحقق أهداف الشراكة الإستراتيجية بين بلدينا ويخدم تطلعات شعبينا نحو مستقبل أكثر ازدهاراً. كما تبادلنا وجهات النظر حول القضايا ذات الاهتمام المشترك وأهمية العمل من أجل ترسيخ أسباب السلام المستدام في منطقة الشرق الأوسط والعالم.

Es war mir eine Freude, heute in Berlin mit Bundespräsident Frank-Walter Steinmeier zusammenzutreffen, um die langjährige Freundschaft unserer beiden Länder zu bekräftigen und darüber zu sprechen, wie wir unsere Zusammenarbeit weiter vertiefen können. Die strategische Partnerschaft zwischen den Vereinigten Arabischen Emiraten und Deutschland reicht von der Wirtschaft über die Kultur bis hin zu den Begegnungen zwischen den Menschen. Auf diesem Fundament wollen wir weiter aufbauen und unseren Ländern und ihren Menschen dauerhafte neue zusätzliche Chancen eröffnen.
