Organic cotton care, the short version: 30°C, inside out to protect the print, no fabric softener, air-dry where you can.
Heat breaks down fibres and fades colour fastest. The tee you don't have to replace is the best-value one.
Winter walkers: what's the one thing you wish someone had told you before your first cold-weather hill day?
Rooted Together came out of our travels through Canada: vast forests, open skies, everyday life feeling small.
Two trees side by side under the sun. 100% GOTS-certified organic cotton, oversized, Oat. £44 / $58.
Lake District for beginners: pick a lakeshore circuit or a small fell before anything with a famous name. You'll see more, enjoy it more, and still be keen next weekend.
Which small fell would you send a first-timer up? #LakeDistrict
Synthetic fabrics shed microplastic fibres every time they're washed. Cotton sheds fibres too, but they're plant fibres, not plastic.
One reason most of our tees are 100% organic cotton. Check the label on anything you buy, ours included.
Week one back on X. How it runs: AI drafts posts in batches from our blog and product pages. I read every one, rewrite plenty, bin some, then schedule.
Nothing goes out unapproved, and every reply is from me. Small brand, real person on the other end.
First week of dark evenings. The walk moves to the morning now, or to lunch.
Fifteen minutes in a park at midday still counts. Low winter sun through bare trees is a decent consolation prize.
Sunday question. What's the oldest bit of outdoor kit you still use, and why has it lasted?
Asking because "buy less, choose well" only works if things actually last.
Clocks go back tonight. One extra hour.
Best use of it I know: an earlier start, a flask, and a hill before anyone else is up. What are you doing with yours?
How an order works: you order, the piece is printed for you, then it's posted without single-use plastic.
UK delivery is 4 to 8 working days, US and international 7 to 14. Slower than next-day. That's the trade for not making stock nobody wants.
The fisherman beanie is 95% organic cotton and 5% elastane. The elastane is there so it keeps its stretch.
Worth saying plainly, because it isn't 100%. Embroidered, ribbed, made for cold mornings.
GOTS, OCS and Fairtrade all turn up on cotton labels. They prove different things: processing standards, organic content, and how farmers are paid.
Plain-English guide to what each one proves, and what it doesn't: naturethreads.club/gots-vs-o…
New to the Peak District? You don't need to start big. There are gentle walks with honest grades and good paths, and Mam Tor is a sensible next step once you've a few under your boots.
Where did you start? #PeakDistrict
Reading a GOTS label: "organic" means at least 95% certified organic fibre. "Made with organic" means at least 70%.
Both are legitimate. They aren't the same claim. If a brand won't say which applies, ask.
Forest bathing sounds like a wellness trend. In practice it's walking slowly among trees with your phone in your pocket.
Wet leaves. A wood pigeon somewhere. No step count. Start with twenty minutes and see how it feels.
Autumn hill rule I keep relearning: the layer you take off on the climb is the one you need at the top.
Ten minutes stood at a cairn in wind and drizzle cools you fast. What's always in your pack from October onwards?
New for autumn: the Breathe With The Forest sweatshirt.
A pine forest and a few flowing lines, a reminder to slow down and breathe. 100% GOTS-certified organic cotton, oversized, dropped shoulders, Athletic Grey.
Print-on-demand has an odd side effect: a design doesn't have to sell 500 to exist.
If five people want it, it stays in the range. Nobody's sitting on a pallet of them. That's why a few of ours are a bit niche.
