Through 9/11, Hurricanes Sandy, Irene and Lee, and severe winter storms FEMA has provided invaluable help to individuals and the state in some of our most difficult times. Losing this support will hurt NY in the toughest of times and create a new level of fiscal uncertainty.

I enjoyed speaking with @NYSPEF retirees about the state’s finances, the strength of the pension fund and standing shoulder to shoulder with labor. I was also lucky to tour the Brentwood Public Library, a pillar of the community since 1937. It has an impressive adult literacy program, ESL and citizenship preparation classes and bilingual story times.
