NBC’s TODAY Show Brings “Friday Morning Lights” to Troup High School The national spotlight will shine on Georgia high school football Friday morning as NBC’s TODAY Show brings its Friday Morning Lights series to Troup High School in LaGrange! Friday Morning Lights is a special feature on NBC’s nationally televised morning show that celebrates high school football traditions, school spirit and the communities that make Friday nights special. The visit comes ahead of one of Georgia’s biggest regular-season matchups, as No. 1 Troup (9-0) hosts No. 2 Peach County (9-0) in a highly anticipated Class AAAA region championship showdown. History is also on the line! In more than 70 years of school history, Troup High School has never completed an undefeated football season. The Tigers will look to accomplish that milestone against an equally undefeated Peach County squad who has the history as a long time state powerhouse. To celebrate the occasion, Troup will host a special morning pep rally featuring its marching band, cheerleaders and football team. The festivities will be showcased during LIVE cut-ins throughout the 8 a.m. hour of NBC’s TODAY Show, giving viewers across the country a glimpse of Georgia high school football at its finest. Congratulations to Kamarui Dorsey from Hampton High School, the GHSF Daily/AJC Varsity State Player of the Week presented by Alfa Insurance! 🏈👏 Kamarui, pictured here with head coach, Chad Ashley (far left) and Alfa's Francee McIver (Far right), put together a phenomenal all-around performance in Friday night’s win over Woodland. The standout playmaker rushed for 105 yards and three touchdowns, tallied seven tackles, forced a crucial goal-line fumble at the 2-yard line, and electrified the crowd with an 85-yard kickoff return for a touchdown. @Alfa_Insurance

Congratulations to former GHSA standout and Georgia High School Football Hall of Famer James Brooks, who has been elected to the Cincinnati Bengals Ring of Honor! A standout at @robinsfootball1 , Brooks rushed for 4,756 yards during his high school career, setting a state record at the time. As team captain, he led the Demons to the 1976 Class 3A state and national championships. Congratulations, James! A proud moment for Warner Robins and Georgia high school football.
