If one, or many, do the opposite of what a tech does, for convenience, hard to blame the tech then.

The same people who mocked our idea of building a French-built computer and OS now pretend to defend digital sovereignty.

Hats off to Mistral. 🇫🇷 Europe released another serious option for AI we can hose ourselves.
Mistral Large 4’s weights are now available.
Artificial Analysis ranks it narrowly ahead of every other open-weight model developed outside China (Muse) on its Intelligence Index.
And its coding-agent results are particularly encouraging

Mistral’s setup used roughly half the total tokens per task of those two competitors.
Different agent setups, but a meaningful result.
Mistral says it trained the model from scratch in its own European datacenters.
The win is another capable model whose weights we can access and deploy with commercial restrictions under its MEOW license.
I'd like to see more labs building capable models and putting the weights in our own hardware. Credit to Mistral for doing that.

We’ve trained Claude to flag potential misuse in conversations, a technique we call self-assessment. Right after it responds, Claude gives a preliminary safety assessment of the conversation.
Since we began using self-assessment in June, it has surfaced misuse that our other safeguards weren’t designed to catch.
Because Claude has already read the conversation, self-assessment is very efficient. And unlike classifiers, which target a discrete set of harms, it draws on Claude’s own judgment, so it gets more accurate as our models improve.

Everyone called php2shell the next Log4Shell. It wasn't, and the reason is in the offsets: every exploit chain is pinned to one exact build, so the public PoCs mostly crash on a different one.

I like bun for a few reasons
almost zero deps needed for most of my needs but some sdk
less messy import, unlike node which keeps complaining
SEA is smooth and reliable
and php is the same btw. few pkgs maybe, but the age of do it all framework.
only miss pkging built-in.
