Outsourcing is a racket. It's time the Labour government kept their promise to deliver the ‘biggest wave of insourcing for a generation’.

Unaccountable, rip-off outsourcing has eaten away at our public services for decades. We need new and democratic ways of running the services our communities rely on. #InsourceNow
Every year, £6 BILLION is taken out of our public services in outsourcing profits. That's money for NHS nurses, care workers, free school meals and council homes. It's time for @andyburnham and the Government to end the outsourcing scam. #InsourceNow

PCS retired members’ chair Sandra Durkin spoke about the Capita pensions crisis for the Insource Now! campaign video today. She was brilliant, explaining the impact on members and why bringing services back in-house matters. She was joined by workers from UNISON and RMT to help make the case for insourcing. The giant cheque represents £6 billion in profits for outsourcing companies from government contracts. Public money that should support services, workers, and the people who rely on them. #InsourceNow

AI and new technology should make railway workers' lives better. Not make their jobs disappear. We're not against progress. We're against workers paying the price for it.

Today is the day that @NYCCouncil Julie Menin delivers the Westside stables over to Manhattan real estate developers who have long wanted to build hotels and skyscrapers there. Today is the day she kicks to the curb hundreds of blue collar workers and families with no economic assistance. Today she stands with millionaires and billionaires who like her have mansions in Hamptons and Cape Cod and no money concerns at all. Shameful.
Today is the day. We will pass Romanch’s Law, and we will ban horse carriages in New York City!

👏 Two everyday heroes. One life-saving response. 🦸 A huge well done to Josh and Neil, our Travel Safe Officers, who helped save a passenger who had fallen onto the tracks at Lea Green station. When they heard a loud bang, Josh and Neil acted quickly, working together to get the train stopped, help the injured passenger to safety and administer first aid. Despite a frightening situation, they remained calm under pressure and stayed with the passenger to make sure he was okay. Their quick thinking, courage and teamwork are a powerful example of the difference our people make every day across the Northern network. 💙 Josh and Neil were nominated for a Lifesaver Award at the 2026 RailStaff Awards in recognition of their actions. 👏 Please join us in thanking Josh and Neil for their incredible response.

Fantastic visit to Leeds Railway station with @RMTunion @ Dortmund TUC this morning. Most UK rail industry workers are trade union members which is why their pay and conditions are way above average! Sticking together in your union works ✊🚆✊

Jackdaw drilling approval must come with workers’ rights OFFSHORE union RMT said that the government’s approval to drilling at the Jackdaw gas field must focus on protecting the jobs, conditions and skills for offshore energy workers and their communities. RMT general secretary Eddie Dempsey called for strong industry-wide trade union collective bargaining agreements that secure the future for offshore energy workers throughout the entirety of the supply chain. “RMT is in regular dialogue with ministers and participate in high level forums to protect the future employment of members and economic support for the communities in which they live. “The Prime Minister has highlighted the need for greater public control and this should include promoting public ownership of all energy production assets, not preserving a broken model of profiteering from the UK’s oil and gas reserves. “Public ownership of our energy production and union negotiated job guarantees across the supply chain are the key to protecting our communities that rely on North Sea energy for their current and future livelihoods,” he said.

Posters don’t patrol platforms. Fines don’t replace frontline staff. Whilst these measures are welcome, the urgent priorities should be: staffed stations and services; an end to lone working; restored BTP capacity; directly employed security and enforcement staff; legal protection covering public-transport workers. bbc.co.uk/news/articles/cm89…
