Most brands add a Subscribe & Save widget, watch nobody use it, and decide subscription doesn’t work for them.
This week on Send It! Pod @jimmykim and @ecomchasedimond break down how consumable brands get customers into subscriptions and replenishment, and why most brands only do half of it.
In this episode:
→ Subscription vs. replenishment, and why you likely need both
→ When subscription fits your product (and when it doesn’t)
→ Where to offer it: first purchase vs. after the habit forms
→ Why the discount shouldn’t be the whole pitch
→ A replenishment timing playbook built around your product’s reorder cycle
This s Part 1 of a 2 part series. Part 2 will be on keeping subscribers drops next week.

My entire timeline: Grok, MCP, vibe coding.
My clients: "Can you send over the deck?"
Templafy Document Agents finally bring the agent part to the deck part. This is drastically reducing my time spent building decks.

Your campaigns interrupt. Your shipping emails get sought out.
Order confirmed. Shipped. Out for delivery.
Each update earns attention from someone who already bought. Treat that experience like it matters to the next order.

Your best subject lines are sitting in your reviews right now.
Customers already tell you why they love your product, in their own words. Those words beat anything a copywriter can make up.
How to do it:
1. Pull your 4- and 5-star reviews
2. Find the line that makes you feel something
3. Use their exact words as the subject line
Save this before your next campaign.

We're a media company with a single editor, and we have a ton of needs.
Right now, our editor edits, then clips, then writes copy, then makes thumbnails. The clips often ship late because we only have one person.
The cool thing about Riverside Agents is that they would draft the rough cut and the clips and hand them to our editor, and nothing goes live till our editor signs off on it.
Our editor stays in the director's chair, just stops doing every grunt pass. Excited for our team to use this so we can finally ship on time.

Meet Riverside Agents, the first AI production team built only for video.
Producer preps the session, Editor creates the full edit, Clipper cuts the best moments, and Marketer gets it live.
They’re experts at video and know how to take your content to the next level. You call the shots.
Watch the demo:
Customers don't just open order confirmations. They wait for them.
They just paid. They want proof the order went through.
That first email resolves purchase anxiety. Treat it like part of the customer experience.

Your welcome email is the first impression for every new subscriber.
Here are 4 fixes you can steal:
1. Subject line: tell them what's inside
2. First line: get to the point
3. Offer: make it specific, with a code and a deadline
4. Button: say exactly where the click goes
Save this for your next welcome email.

Copy this ChatGPT prompt to fix your welcome emails:
"You just joined my email list for [brand name], a store that sells [what you sell] to [who your customer is]. You haven't bought anything yet.
Read my welcome emails one by one. After each email, tell me:
1. What you think
2. Where you lost interest
3. What would make you buy
Then rewrite each email to fix those problems, starting with the weakest one. Keep my brand voice: [describe it in 3 words, like 'playful, warm, direct'].
Email 1 (sent right after signup):
[paste subject line + body]
Email 2 (sent [X] days later):
[paste subject line + body]
Email 3 (sent [X] days later):
[paste subject line + body]"
How to use it:
1. Fill in the brackets
2. Copy each welcome email from your email platform, subject line included
3. Paste them in order (add more slots if your flow has more emails) and run it
If you just ask AI for feedback, it's way too nice. Make it act like a real shopper and it'll tell you where people lose interest.
Save this for your next flow audit.
Your repeat purchase rate sets your acquisition budget.
More second orders mean you can afford to spend more to win the next customer.
Build LTV from the first purchase. Don’t just report it.

The question I get more than any other on strategy calls is: how often should we be emailing?
Every answer I’ve ever given has been a compromise.
Three a week is too much for some people on your list and nowhere near enough for the ones who’d happily hear from you twice that often.
So you pick a number in the middle and accept that it’s wrong for most of them.
We call that a sending strategy.
@getallanai handles it per person instead.
You set a floor and a ceiling. Minimum one a week, maximum four, whatever you’re comfortable with.
Then it decides where each subscriber sits inside that range, and what time of day to reach them.
Someone opening everything and browsing twice a week gets four. Someone drifting off gets one.
Same list, same flow, the frequency just stops being one number you applied to everybody.
It runs on top of Omnisend or Klaviyo, so none of this means moving your program.
Point it at one trigger and leave it for a month. It’s free for 30 days, and the trial includes the creative, so there’s nothing to build and nothing to pay before you find out what your single number has been costing you.

Your discount strategy might be teaching customers not to pay full price.
A sale can lift today's revenue while training the next order to wait.
Use discounts as a tool. Protect the full-price purchase.

Your email doesn't need to be clever. It needs to make the next step obvious.
One email. One idea. One call to action.
Make the button say what happens next. Confusion kills conversion.
