i wanted to show you something I made, a 3D environment inspired by @vivi_vtube and SCENA, and wanted to showcase it with you guys. I don't usually show my 3D/game dev work, but i'm really happy with this one. I hope you guys like it and happy holidays!
Unfortunate events happening on r/dissidia
For context i am one of the main mods of the subreddit and it's been filled with AI posts lately, and while i was getting a lot of reports to take them down, a lot of them were praising them on the comments, so the results felt mixed, and decided to make a poll, because regardless of my opinion i don't like imposing what i think on others
The poll is also a little bit mixed, which is more or less how it felt, so i guess on reddit they are more welcoming about it.
i also got called biased for calling the poll slop and that i would skew the results LMAOOOO, but it's true, it's slop
and also that if i am a software developer then i should look into them and fix the issues they have then so they are not low effort, i think this is a very easy thing to tell as someone that has never coded in their life, ah yes let me just go through thousands of lines of code you did not write, nobody is going to do that
I don't want the subreddit to get overran with posts like these so i will have to either restrict it to a megathread or put a flair that anyone can turn off, but still, sorry for ranting here, just felt like posting about this somewhere lol

Tim Sweeney is taking another shot at Steam.
The Epic Games CEO claims Valve has “held gaming back for years” by locking PC games into Steamworks’ ecosystem.
Sweeney argues that Steam’s social features make it harder for players on PC to communicate cross-platform while also criticizing Steam’s 30% cut.
However, that claim isn’t completely accurate. Valve’s Steam Datagram Relay can also be used across other platforms.

They deleted their account lol
After i saw this tweet i felt compelled to make a fork of it that removes all the garbage, so you can use the
app freely without fear that the developer can get notified and jump on your stream and do whatever
the link of the git is on teh replies so you can download it, but if you are curious about what it did:
* there was a hidden “!screm” command that only works for the dev’s twitch account.
if they type it in your chat they can grow/shrink your avatar, set your height, randomly resize you,
make you walk/jump/spin, and do random movement for however long they want
* same command can start a fire sale on your channel point rewards, up to 100% off, even if you had fire sale turned off.
This only works for the redeems you made with his app. This means that, the developer could go to your channel, and essentially
remove the price tag of your channel points at will, leaving it at 1 point price, which is basically free, so anyone could reddeem
anything they wanted off your channel.
This works on everyone’s stream except one hardcoded channel, this channel's Id is stored as 817261183.
The ID belongs to someone's t witch channel "mistythecanine", i don't know who this is but i felt worth pointing out for
full transparency. all of this is gone for course.
* every time you went live, the app sent your twitch name and channel link to the dev's server, and keeps pinging
it every hour you are live. the readme said you can turn it off but the setting is hardcoded to stay on, so that was
just not true
* every time someone used the world command in your chat, it sent the world and creator id to the dev’s server.
it also pings that server every 10 minutes while the app is open. can’t be turned off, this is also removed so it
does not let the original developer know what world you are on and if you are still there
* ko-fi tips go through the dev’s server by default, including the supporter's name, amount, message, and your ko-fi
verification token. The develorper states that this is just to make the ko-fi funcitonality work. This is technically true.
* You cannot get the ko-fi functionality work without a relay server inbetween, that passes through him, and gets the transaction
across, at least as far as i'm aware there is not a way to do this without setting it up locally and so on, so i decided to
give you a warning that if you are using this functionality you are using the original developer's relay server and
they will know a ko-fi transaction was done, even though they claim they will do nothing with this, i feel like transparency
is needed and up to the people to decide.
All this is addressed in my forked version of it, to make sure you don't get confused, i changed the color and logo so you can
be 100% sure you are not using the tapped version
I have personally not tested the features because i have no way to since i don't have anything vrchat wise set up, i just
removed garbage, but if you want to try it and there's something that doesn't work we can take a look, this is just not my field
but i felt at least contributing to this so the original functionality can be used by anyone without fear, link in replies!

Hey so if you're going to make a plugin to connect Twitch to VRC, don't be this person.
Crystal Relay allows Twitch chat to control your avatar via channel points, subs, bits, etc. (Including changing to a different avatar on your account)
The plugin, however, has a backdoor for the developer, Screminpal, to have master controls over your avatar whenever they want and, from my personal experience, they will just do it without asking for your consent. You cannot turn off this backdoor btw. The dev can just come in and mess with you whenever they want and you have no control over it.
Their excuse is "It's clearly stated in the GitHub that I can do this"
I think it’s because people do not understand that y'shtola is there to get people to play XIV, rather than a “which is the best scion” kind of argument that some people get into.
If you play XIV, you will 90% prefer someone else because yshtola has low screen time, but she has undeniably one of the best designs, and that’s what she is there for, to represent the game, and she does that well
Back when I did not play XIV, I always thought in DISSIDIA NT that yshtola looked really cool, and that’s all you need to get someone into the game sometimes, y'shtola is just a better hook to get people to play the game.
From what I understand, a similar thing happens on XI, where Shantotto is the most known character, but in the actual game she does not appear as much and people that actually play XI would prefer someone like Iroha. Maybe it’s not 1:1 like that but you get it
The perspective of people that don’t play XIV and the actual ones is different, and that’s why she will always be the go to pick, meanwhile the playerbase would prefer someone like Emet or Alisae/Thancred

There seem to be some confusion over the exact ATK buff potency of Y'shtola's passive.
There is only one clip that shows 20%

for the people complaining about her ears and tail:
in modern tokyo they need to hide them so people don't suspect they are not humans, this is also done with Zidane for example
you can always just run her normal outfit where he has her ears and tail, it's a non-issue
