SHEFFIELD WEDNESDAY SUPPORTERS’ TRUST - MEMBERS’ BALLOT RESULT The Sheffield Wednesday Supporters’ Trust can confirm the outcome of its recent members’ consultation ballot regarding the invitation extended to James Silverwood to join the Sheffield Wednesday FC Board in an unpaid, non-executive capacity. Members were asked whether they supported James accepting the invitation to join the Club Board. A total of 1,300 valid votes were cast, with the result as follows: YES – 91.5% (1,189 votes) NO – 8.5% (111 votes) The ballot was conducted using OpaVote, an independent online voting platform, with the results independently verified. This provided a secure voting process, separate from the Trust’s own systems, with votes counted electronically. In the interests of openness and transparency, we have published the official OpaVote results directly to everyone who participated in the ballot, allowing members to view the results independently. The result represents an overwhelming endorsement from those members who voted and provides James with a clear indication of their views as he considers the invitation. We would like to thank every member who took the time to participate in this important consultation. The Trust remains committed to representing its members, maintaining its independence and working constructively to help build a better future for Sheffield Wednesday. #SWFC

The Sheffield Wednesday Supporters’ Trust would like to thank Henrik Pedersen for his efforts during his time at the club. Henrik is a genuinely good man who helped guide Wednesday through an incredibly difficult period last season, showing professionalism and commitment in circumstances few managers would envy. We support the club’s decision to make a change, whilst recognising Henrik’s contribution during a particularly difficult chapter in our history. We wish him all the very best for the future. #SWFC

🚨 WEDNESDAY FANS, WE NEED YOUR HELP! 🚨 Once again, we’re asking for your support as our charity partner @pactsheffield faces huge demand for toiletries to fill their overnight bags for families in need. Thanks to @swfc, we’ll be outside the Megastore before Tuesday night’s game against Cambridge collecting donations. If you’re heading to Hillsborough, please bring along whatever toiletries you can spare. A small donation can make a massive difference. 💙🦉 #SWFC #WAWAW

APPEAL FOR WITNESSES - NOTTS COUNTY (A) We’re appealing for help following an incident involving a fellow Wednesdayite ahead of Tuesday evening’s game at Notts County. At approximately 7.20pm on Tuesday, a Sheffield Wednesday supporter was struck by a vehicle outside Hooters on London Road, Nottingham, while crossing the road. The supporter suffered a fractured knee and is awaiting further scans to establish the full extent of their injuries. We understand there were a number of football supporters in the area at the time, and we’re hoping someone may have witnessed what happened. Did you see the incident? Were you crossing the road nearby? Do you have any dashcam footage? Even the smallest detail could make a difference. If you witnessed anything, please contact us at [email protected] and we can put you in touch with the supporter involved. We wish our fellow Wednesdayite a full and speedy recovery. 🔵⚪ #SWFC #NottsCounty

🎟️ LIMITED TICKETS AVAILABLE – CAMBRIDGE UNITED (H) As part of our ongoing community ticketing initiative, we have a limited number of tickets available for Tuesday evening’s game against Cambridge United at Hillsborough. We want these tickets to go to Wednesdayites who truly deserve a day out at Hillsborough but wouldn’t ordinarily have the opportunity to attend. Do you know someone who deserves a ticket? Someone who’s had a tough time, a family who could do with a lift, or simply someone who wouldn’t otherwise be able to go? We’d love to hear from you. 📩 Please email [email protected] with your nomination. 🔵⚪ #SWFC

A huge congratulations to our fantastic Litter Picking Volunteer Group, who recently reached an incredible milestone, 100 bags of litter collected from the local area around Hillsborough Stadium. What started with a simple aim to make a difference has grown into a brilliant example of what can be achieved when people come together and give their time to look after the community. Every bag collected means cleaner streets, greener spaces and a more pleasant environment for everyone to enjoy. A massive thank you to Maureen and every volunteer who has picked up litter, given up their time and helped make a real difference. Your commitment, enthusiasm and community spirit are truly appreciated. Here’s to the next 100 bags!

ONE YEAR ON. A year ago today, thousands of Wednesdayites stayed away from Hillsborough for the home game against Middlesbrough. The boycott sent a clear message. Supporters had simply had enough and wanted change. Looking back twelve months on, it was arguably the final straw for the former chairman. A powerful demonstration of just how far things had gone and how strongly supporters felt about the direction of our football club. The boycott was just one part of a much wider effort. Months of protests, campaigns and countless hours of voluntary work from Wednesdayites who simply wanted better. A year on, there’s still plenty of work ahead, but the difference in where we find ourselves today is remarkable. Twelve months ago, we were demanding a better future for Sheffield Wednesday. Today, we have the opportunity to build one. Never underestimate what Wednesdayites can achieve when we pull together. Nothing is Insurmountable. #SWFC

It’s fantastic to see businesses associated with the club getting behind a supporter-led event, and we’d love to see more local businesses doing the same. How many more times must we find ourselves condemning this vile behaviour? Nobody should have to endure racist abuse. The Sheffield Wednesday Supporters’ Trust stands firmly alongside our player, his family and the Club. If you witness racism or discrimination, report it. Don’t ignore it, don’t scroll past it. Save the evidence and report it through the appropriate channels. We all have a responsibility to challenge this behaviour and ensure those responsible are held accountable. This must stop. #SWFC
Club statement: 21 October, 2026 Sheffield Wednesday is aware of racist abuse directed towards the family of one of our players on social media following last night’s fixture. We stand unequivocally with our player and his family, who have the club’s complete support. Racism is abhorrent. It has no place in football or in society, and we condemn this abuse in the strongest possible terms. The comments have been reported to the relevant authorities, with whom we will work to ensure those responsible are identified and held accountable. This is not the first incident of its kind involving our players, staff and their families this season. The continued targeting of individuals and their loved ones is utterly unacceptable. Only last weekend, we stood alongside the EFL in supporting its Together Against Racism campaign. Incidents such as this reinforce why collective action and meaningful consequences remain so important. There can be no tolerance, no excuses and no ambiguity when it comes to racism or discrimination of any kind. Sheffield Wednesday will continue to stand with those affected and take the strongest possible action against anyone responsible for such abuse.
