If you're a baker, you've probably seen tz4 mentioned a lot. If you haven't looked into it yet, here's why it matters 👇
tz4 addresses use BLS signatures, and those can be aggregated. Right now every attestation carries its own signature, so a lot of data goes around the network. With tz4, many attestations can be combined into one.
Tallinn added a feature called All Bakers Attest, where every baker attests every block instead of just a committee (current model). It switches on once more than 50% of active bakers use a tz4 consensus key. It counts bakers, not stake, so a small bakery counts the same as a big one.
Right now it's about 41% (81 of 200 active bakers), so roughly 19 more to go.
Switching doesn't change your baker address or your stake, only the key you sign with. Same baker, different key. And even though you can't do it with a Ledger, there are already great options like the Tezos RPi BLS Signer, TezSign, and Russignol that will work.

Well, copper has now made its way onto Tezos through @metalsofficial, adding another physical commodity to its growing lineup.

That brings the options up to six: uranium, gold, nickel, cobalt, the Strategic Metals Basket (rare and technology metals), and now copper. Less than a year ago, there was one.
