ok good job now pass popular bills and dare trump to veto them. here’s a starter set (all poll at 85% or higher):
- require hospitals to fully disclose costs before providing care.
- require background checks for all gun sales, including private sales.
- ban financial companies from selling customers’ personal data.
- require an enforceable supreme court ethics code.
- ban members of congress from trading individual stocks.
- prohibit former members of congress from becoming lobbyists for five years.
- prevent hospitals from charging more than doctors’ offices for identical outpatient services.
- establish a voluntary program helping employers provide paid family and medical leave.
- require publicly distributed AI deepfakes to be labeled as AI-generated.
- cap prescription drug prices based on prices in other developed countries.
- prohibit hospital facility fees for outpatient clinic services and telehealth visits.
- require organizations spending on federal elections to disclose major donors and identify sponsors of online political ads.
If Americans are against data centers, and they are not location-dependent, why aren't they being built in Greenland or the Yukon, where land is cheap, population low-to-non-existent, and the air is cold most of the year?
Am I correct in thinking the two-month lag between election and assuming office is because 250 years ago it took a couple months to get to DC on a horse? If so, maybe time to retire that nonsense?

My favorite story in the Bible is where a disabled man asked Jesus to heal him, and Jesus asked to see his insurance card first. But the man was uninsured, so Jesus told him to get fucked and get a job.

The “Shove the ballroom up your fat ass” guy, the “I’m here to see the MAGA cult up close” guy, and the “Trump flew on Epstein’s plane” dude have done more for Democrats this midterm season than Hakeem Jeffries and Chuck Schumer combined.

Elon Musk should not be admired or respected.
Elon Musk should be feared as a wealthy gangster who pushes any button to get what he wants.
What Elon Musk wants is to benefit himself, amass more billions of dollars and never have a single altruistic notion.
Elon Musk's game is to get as much as he can as fast as he can.
To him you can either get out of his way or...that's it really.
Elon Musk wants us all to get out his way.
Elon Musk owes America reparations for "DOGE" and helping shove Trump down our throats.
Elon Musk in no way supports free speech except for himself.
For Elon Musk free speech never has to be truthful speech.
Elon Musk always gets the last word.
He owns the media.
Question everything he says or does.

Is there a community of people who find costumes to be ridiculous and embarrassing for adults? Is there a crossover with people who can't stand musicals?

Among the disappointments that led to the eminent threat to America's democracy I feel most betrayed by the Supreme Court.
That institution was to be our failsafe against waves of delirium and fascist irrationality.
Instead SCOTUS became an ally to hasten lunacy. – at Edgewood, KY
My uncle spent 40 years as a high school teacher. Saved $250k in a modest nest egg.
At 78, he developed dementia and needed memory care.
The facility cost $8,500 a month.
When his savings ran out after two and a half years, the social worker handed my cousin a stack of paperwork.
She explained the rule: "Medicaid won't cover a single day until he has less than $2,000 in total liquid assets."
He had to sell his car, cash out his remaining life insurance, and empty his checking account just to qualify for basic care.
Forty years of discipline, erased down to two thousand dollars so he could die in a shared room.
They don't let working class families leave a legacy.
They make sure you die with zero before they hand you a safety net.
