If I’m Boston, I’m really hesitant about making this move. You’re talking about gutting a championship level roster for a superstar you already don’t need to win. A trade like this could turn a great team into a top heavy one with no depth.
Giannis Antetokounmpo reportedly likes the idea of joining the Miami Heat or Boston Celtics, per @TheSteinLine “I've heard something similar from a few different teams since the Chicago draft combine: Miami and Boston are increasingly perceived to be the potential trade destinations that currently — underline currently — most intrigue Milwaukee's Antetokounmpo.” (Via substack.com/redirect/2/eyJl…)

Wade is just being honest here. A lot of players think like that until they actually go up against international guys and realize it’s real skill over there. Once you see it up close, you understand basketball is basketball! It doesn’t matter where you’re from.
Dwyane Wade on playing against White/International players: “From the community I’m from, if I see a white boy I’m like ‘oh I got him.’ I don’t know him at all. It’s just a perception that he’s not better than me. He can’t be better than me. You’ll hear a lot of African Americans speak from that space. From a basketball standpoint that was the thought. International players are soft. Then I played international basketball, and got my ass kicked. I was like ‘oh no, they’re SKILLED.’ Their game is tougher. Actually, it’s our game that’s softer” (Via SKWEEK YT)

Brunson is elite and way more versatile off the ball, but Luka is the engine of a whole offense every night. If you’re building a team from scratch for a title run, you’re still taking Luka over Brunson!
Max Kellerman and Antonio Daniels agree that they would rather have Jalen Brunson over Luka Doncic to win a championship 🤔 Daniels: “The reason I’d say that is because I’ve seen Brunson play with and without the ball.” Max: “I agree!” (via Game Over)

If Atlanta ever gets a real shot at a guy like Jaylen Brown, you at least have to take the call. But moving that kind of money and talent for a domino effect Giannis deal is a massive gamble! #TrueToAtlanta
Per @TheSteinLine: • Atlanta is one team to keep an eye on if Jaylen Brown becomes part of Boston’s pursuit of Giannis Antetokounmpo, with some around the league believing the Hawks would have real interest in Brown. (Via: tinyurl.com/enxyn49d) #TrueToAtlanta

The Knicks are the better team. Period.
"I felt this was a very winnable series... I just don't have this feeling the Knicks have absolutely clobbered the Cavs. I feel like the Cavs have done more to beat themselves." 🚨@RuiterWrongFAN tells @LanceReisland why the Cavs being down 3-0 to Knicks is so frustrating

Athletes create spaces for connection and community all the time. It’s not unusual for people to gather with those who share similar experiences, especially in a sport where representation has been a long-standing conversation. I see no problem with this!
Half black/half Japanese tennis player Naomi Osaka held a dinner party exclusively for black tennis players before the French Open She defended the party by claiming there have been segregated white-only parties (Without proof, of course) This woman is insufferable.

I would’ve gone with @FCHWPO over Luka. He impacts the game on both ends of the floor, not just offensively.
Jaylen Brown on making second-team All-NBA: “I’m surprised I win awards at all sometimes... I’m not the most liked player in the media.” (h/t @BiggLynch)

💯
We hate Trump like you hated Obama, but here’s the difference: we hate Trump because he’s racist; you hated Obama because you’re racist.

That’s good coaching. He corrected him, but still trusted him enough to put him right back in the game. That’s how confidence gets built! Hold guys accountable, then let them respond.
“I need you to listen to me.” Mitch Johnson got on Carter Bryant… then sent him straight back out there. That’s the part people miss. Correction without trust just creates fear.

People keep missing the point. Instead of asking why Black patients prefer Black doctors, they debate the preference. There’s history behind it, especially with how Black women have been treated in healthcare. You can’t ignore that and act surprised by the response.
Y’all never want to do the extra homework and ask why Black patients feel the need to seek out Black doctors in the first place. There is so much research about how Black patients — especially Black women — have been mistreated and disrespected by the healthcare system. Per usual, you’re attacking the remedy rather than actually addressing the problem.

Some people only come around when they’re at their lowest just to try to bring you down with them. I get it, but I can’t let anyone use my energy like that anymore. Protecting my peace comes first. #ILoveMyPeace
People like to come to me when they’re at their lowest and try to make me feel like shit cause thats how they feel about themselves and while I don’t believe in kicking folks while they are down, I won’t allow people to use me for my good energy anymore. Those same people will try to kick you when you’re down…

On Memorial Day, we don’t just remember the fallen, we honor a sacrifice that can never be repaid, only respected and never forgotten. 🇺🇸 #MemorialDay
On Memorial Day, we pay tribute to the brave men and women in uniform who gave their lives for this country that we love. It is a debt we can never fully repay, but we must never stop trying. I’ll always be grateful to our fallen heroes and their families, whose sacrifice reminds us of what it means to live for something greater than ourselves.

I'm taking @raylewis! No one played LB the way he did. He played with intensity, hit hard, and made offenses change how they played. He wasn’t just a hard hitter, he always seemed one step ahead. One of the smartest defensive players of all time!
Pick one... 🤔

As a veteran, Memorial Day means more than just a day off to me. Today I take time to honor and remember the men and women who gave everything for our country and never made it home. Their sacrifice will never be forgotten. 🇺🇸 #MemorialDay
