Congratulations to Dr. Jessica Liu, Division Head, Internal Medicine and Geriatrics at UHN, for receiving a Toronto Citizen Hero Award at the Toronto Emergency Services Headquarters!
She came to cheer on her child's soccer game. She ended up saving a stranger's life.
Dr. Jessica Liu, Division Head, Internal Medicine and Geriatrics at @UHN, was on the sidelines at Rosedale Park when a young man suddenly collapsed nearby. Alongside Dr. Hedieh Molla Ghanbari and Daniel Tiberini, she jumped into action, performing CPR and helping revive him until paramedics arrived to take him to Toronto General Hospital. Today, he's fully recovered.
Dr. Liu was honoured with a Toronto Citizen Hero Award, because lifesaving moments can happen anywhere and heroes often show up when you least expect them.💙
