Sometimes saving a life begins with simply stopping, listening, and staying calm.
We are proud of an off-duty Massena Station U.S. Border Patrol Agent whose compassion and quick action helped bring an individual in crisis to safety in Nicholville, NY. This is service beyond the uniform.
When danger strikes and every second counts, our agents don’t hesitate.
In Falfurrias, TX, agents rescued a 78-year-old driver with limited mobility trapped inside a burning pickup truck. As flames began engulfing the vehicle, agents pulled him to safety and radioed for assistance. USBP EMTs quickly arrived and provided first aid until local EMS took over.

Two human smugglers transporting three illegal aliens led law enforcement on a dangerous pursuit and crashed into another vehicle while attempting to evade apprehension in Laredo, TX.
A concerned citizen alerted USBP to a sedan packed with people traveling at a high rate of speed, then Texas DPS initiated a traffic stop, and the pursuit unfolded.
All five people were arrested. The two smugglers are facing state charges for smuggling of persons, while the illegal aliens will be deported.
Another stark reminder: smugglers have zero regard for public safety.
Accomplishing the mission on any terrain - keeping our borders secure and protected day in and day out.
