Life in Gaza remains brutal. WFP is being forced to cut monthly assistance for half a million Palestinians just as winter begins, when we should be scaling up. Near one of the meal kitchens in Gaza, I spoke with @AP about what this means for families. apnews.com/video/top-wfp-off…

🚨 Due to funding shortages, WFP is forced to reduce food assistance in Gaza by around one-third, meaning half a million people will lose access to critical aid. The cuts come as winter approaches and the recent modest improvements in food security remain fragile. From this month, we are supporting 1.1 million of the most vulnerable people in Gaza with food and cash assistance, down from 1.6 million last month. Food rations will also be cut by half. WFP urgently calls for additional funding in order to keep reaching the most vulnerable in Gaza and the West Bank.

How do you deliver food at the scale of WFP? New digital tools are helping WFP forecast needs, optimize supply chains and coordinate operations across the world's largest humanitarian network, making it easier to get food where it's needed, when it's needed. #WorldFoodDay

What do you use when a truck can't get through, a boat can't reach the shore and a road no longer exists? WFP uses all-terrain vehicles. Able to travel through water, mud and wetlands, and carry up to 1.5 metric tons of cargo, these amphibious vehicles help WFP deliver assistance where conventional transport can't. By overcoming some of the biggest logistical barriers in humanitarian operations, these amphibious vehicles can help reduce delivery costs and expand access to communities that are difficult to reach. #WorldFoodDay
