Antoine Davis🦋

Today is the 66th birthday for former @AlabamaMBB player and longtime college basketball coach Mike Davis. A native of Fayette, Davis earned Alabama’s prestigious Mr. Basketball honor in 1979 before signing with the Crimson Tide. The 6-foot-5 guard played four years at Alabama mostly under @wimpsanderson1, helping the Crimson Tide win the 1982 SEC Tournament championship and reach three consecutive NCAA Tournaments. The Milwaukee Bucks selected Davis with the 42nd overall pick in the second round of the 1983 NBA Draft. He later played professionally in Switzerland, Italy and the Continental Basketball Association. Davis moved into coaching that included head-coaching stops at Indiana, UAB, Texas Southern and Detroit Mercy. He guided Indiana to the 2002 national championship game and led Texas Southern to four NCAA Tournament appearances.
