If the Republicans get wiped out in the midterms, does it make Trump more or less likely to order strikes? Does he do it out of frustration? Does he eschew strikes because he doesn't want a quagmire to define his presidency? Would these strikes be linked to broader objectives?

Strategic communications from the WH have been extremely haphazard. POTUS contradicts himself in a single statement. There's nothing resembling a rigorous policy process. We are launching attacks based on the whims of someone with a below-average attention span and zero strategy.

Nobody knows what Trump will do regarding striking Iran or making a deal. But the fact that people are openly discussing strikes as dependent upon the performance of Ds or Rs in the election is telling. Iran is either a threat or it isn't, irrespective of U.S. domestic politics.

Drones don’t win wars on their own. Victory requires a strategic alignment of national goals with achievable military objectives, and land forces capable of seizing and holding terrain. Offense and defense still matter. So do deception, surprise, and the audacity of commanders and soldiers willing to exploit opportunities, seize and maintain initiatives throughout the war.
All of this was on display in the 2020 war for Karabakh, too often reduced to a story about drones. In our new book, "The War for Karabakh: Strategy, Technology, and Victory," @LiamSCollins and I detail how Azerbaijan prepared for war and fought its way to victory.
Understanding the outcomes of the war required looking beyond the drone stories to the decisions and battles on the ground. Get your copy @amazon or @CambriaPress amazon.com/War-Karabakh-Stra…

UKRAINE HAS BEEN FIGHTING A WAR FOR FOUR YEARS, AND THIS IS WHAT WE GET OUT OF IT? A REPORT WITH EIGHT PAGES OF ACTUAL TEXT?
I just finished reading the U.S. Army Center for Army Lessons Learned publication, “Lessons Learned from the Ukrainian Territorial Defense Forces: Command Post Survivability.”
Twelve pages total. Roughly eight pages of actual text, with only one paragraph on the eighth page.
After four years here in Ukraine, witnessing how drones, electronic warfare, and modern battlefield threats have transformed warfare, this is concerning.
This is exactly what I've been talking about. We need to learn from this war, and we're not doing nearly enough.
The West needs to catch up. Modern warfare isn't waiting for us.
