layerzero's $193m rsETH exploit traced back to a 1-of-1 DVN config where 94% of admin keys overlapped between layerzero labs and nethermind. same employees holding production multisig keys securing hundreds of millions were using those wallets to trade shitters. not a protocol flaw, an operational negligence catastrophe. stargate TVL is going to bleed. capital rotation already favoring chainlink CCIP (15+ independent nodes, SWIFT partnership) and circle CCTP (native burn and mint, zero bridge risk). CCTP volume growing 40% month over month. if eigenlayer's $15b in restaked ETH starts unwinding because rsETH holders lost trust in liquid restaking tokens crossing chains, that repricing event dwarfs the original $193m loss. bridges were supposed to be infrastructure. turns out the infrastructure was a guy with a ledger and a pump.fun tab open

layerzero now has three stacked trust events. mcpepes multisig trading, kelp $292m exploit from 1-of-1 configs, and FTX estate alleging $45m loan forgiveness through crisis exploitation. after kelp alone, 14 protocols migrated in 48 hours. switching costs turned out to be a myth. chainlink CCIP absorbed $3b in volume during that rotation. the FTX case enters discovery soon and if internal comms show intentional exploitation of alameda's distress, that's the catalyst for wave two. cross-chain infrastructure loyalty evaporates the moment trust does. the $45m might get settled quietly but the migration math compounds with every headline

chainlink's svr captured $200k in 24 hours during august crash. liquidations generate fees, 35% flows to reserve, reserve buys link. the harder markets dump, the more link gets bought programmatically. volatility became revenue.

If you use Ethereum, you really need to have an ENS.

The appeal of the cryptocurrency play has always been to front run the global financial system, if you thought it was PVP shit coin trading you lost the ball.

Some more LINK bull posting. The fees CCIP will generate via Swift and the DTCC is not priced in at all (completely confirmed partners, with live products in the early part of their life cycle). Probably hard to find a more mispriced asset on the market based on genuine fundamentals, not speculation. They’ve got the monopoly on the kingmaking TradFi institutions that are responsible for moving and settling all of the world’s value. This is as big of a moat as you will ever find. Ironically, this is the use case the XRP army think they’ve invested in. Further shows how attractive LINK is going to be to regular investors once they finally work out that this is the real “bankers coin” they are looking for. A lot of marginal buyers. Nothing in the entire space has anywhere near the revenue generation potential right now. There’s a reason no VCs ever talk about Chainlink. You genuinely don’t have to do anything. LINK will rise up the rankings because fundamentals eventually take over, especially with US regs in the clear. The “token not needed” crowd are going to have a very bad time from here on out. The token will capture all of the value, and Sergey will be flipping the switch. We will get another boom bust cycle again, but Chainlink is king made at this point, and one of a handful of tokens you could comfortably hold right now for the long run if you didn’t want to play the volatility.

this is arguably the best application of crypto I've seen yet — everyone needs to talk about it more traditional mapping is a monopoly, expensive, and inefficient how it works is that Google has cars that drive around and gather data periodically and charge super high fees since this data is very hard to get with crypto, you can give people all around the world the ability to earn by adding dashcams to their cars and map the world in real-time the result is that you get: i) much fresher mapping data (Google Maps might take months to re-map something!!) ii) much better economics iii) much better composability and network effects the end result is a much better real-time world map than any centralized institution can provide the team behind it is @Hivemapper and they're building on Solana

Chainlink has been building horizontally since even before the mainnet launch in 2019 A unified platform for external data, offchain computation, and cross-chain interoperability All of the necessary connectivity that smart contracts require, but that blockchains do not or cannot provide Chainlink as a platform is also not a single monolithic network, but rather a framework that provides the tools to create an infinite amount of oracle networks Over 1,000+ Chainlink oracle networks have already been launched, each providing a specific unique service to a set of users on a specific chain Oracle networks that can be mixed, matched, and combined to create a sum greater than its parts Other ‘competitors’ are single service vendors typically focused on one of the above verticals, and usually take the form of a non-scalable monolithic network This will inevitably click for people as smart contracts become increasingly intertwined within existing industries which have existing infrastructure that need to become connected And Chainlink is chosen as the foregone solution given its the blockchain connectivity standard
everyone is building vertically in crypto. nobody is building horizontally.
