NEW EPISODE: #248 - LULU CHENG MESERVEY (@lulumeservey) Lulu is the founder of Rostra, a strategic advisory firm that helps founders go direct with their comms. She's received high praise for her work from some of the world's greatest founders including Brian Armstrong, Sam Altman, Palmer Luckey, and others alike. She's the one who these kinds of founders call when they need help. A dozen of them are lucky to call themselves her clients, and countless others have benefitted greatly from her help over the years. Lulu has an awesome energy about her which was palpable from the moment we got on the call to record this podcast. It was a pleasure speaking with her about her story, the nuances of her work with founders, and how she thinks about the evolution of her firm, Rostra. Timestamps below. Links in first reply. a few of my investing principles: - buy panic, sell ATHs - long-term > short-term - high preference for liquidity - low tolerance for complexity - allocations aligned with convictions

I recently got a Tesla Model Y. It's an awesome reminder of what's possible in the physical world. For every new atoms technology, there are a million new bits technologies, so it's easy to forget the former is even possible. A car that drives itself reminds you real quick.
The Tesla Model 3 with FSD is mind-blowing. Jessica and I drove to the gym without touching the controls once. It backed out of our driveway, drove there, and backed into a parking space. It's amazing that you can buy so much future for $40k.

The term "risk-free" is used too liberally in describing investments. The reality is, "risk-free" is used to describe investments where the risk is so low it can be reasonably rounded down to zero, but it's not actually zero. Recently, people started rounding down larger risks.

For example, nothing in crypto is risk-free. Neither, I would argue, are US treasuries. But the latter is lower risk than the former. We shouldn't use the same bad term for both.

Phone fasting is one of the most useful & uncommon habits I have. As I write this, I haven't touched my phone since Sunday. It's sitting in a drawer. I use my apple watch for mobile and computer at home. I've gone phone free for weeks and <1h / day for months... it's great.

That's an old screenshot, to be clear. From the tweet quoted below. I wasn't lying when I said I haven't touched my phone since Sunday. And I wasn't going to go get it just to take a screenshot for this tweet. (tweeted from laptop) xitter.cf/0FJAKE/status/20434884…
Less than 1 hour of phone screen time this week. What is the opposite of getting fried? I feel my brain doing that. No sacrificing productivity or reachability. Just laptop + widescreen monitor + apple watch.

Common words are good. The purpose of language is communication. The less people know the words you use, the worse you are going to be at communicating. That’s why common words work better, because more people know what they mean. That’s also why grammar doesn’t really matter and you can just make up words. “Funner” might not be in the dictionary, but if you say “this is going to be funner than that”, your audience will know what you mean. That’s what matters. They may think you are a little dumb, but that doesn’t matter as much. Sometimes it can be better for someone to underestimate your intelligence than to overestimate it. Multiple grammatic errors above. And grammatic is not a word.
I used to learn a new vocabulary word every day. Then I experienced the social friction of using less understood words and reverted to the mean, a lower dimensional, opaque space. It would be exciting if we endeavored to expand and easter egg vocabulary.

We need more small-scale experiments in governance or sandboxes for innovation at the federal level. Debating every reform nationally makes learning unnecessarily expensive and slow. Competition is the best consumer protection ever invented, and the government is the one sector structurally exempt from it. Run more experiments, with faster permitting, deregulation, or different rules in one place (say 10 square miles of federal land). Measure the results and let successful ideas spread.

Last time I saw this much panic on the timeline, ZEC was down 50% on the Orchard vulnerability. That was 4 months ago. ZEC was trading around $300. Turned out to be a good day to buy.
bought more zec this morning already down ~20% on that, fine same opportunity as it was yesterday most likely to "go to 0", but upside is btc/gold not investment advice, do your own research, etc. etc.

To put my money where my mouth is, I just bought some more good coins. I’m not a big fan of trying to time the market, but I think buying on days that feel like today is generally better than buying when there’s no panic on the TL.
The problem with panic selling like this is that you’re not selling a change in information, you’re selling an alarm tweet half a day after everyone heard it. It’s like leaving the building when you hear a fire alarm and saying it’s because you smell smoke. Of course, it might be right to leave because of the alarm. Sometimes there is a fire. But don’t fool yourself to say it’s because you smell smoke. Most fire alarms are tests.

Threadguy crashes out after having to cover math, cryptography and AI on stream “I wake up every day and it's like, hey Threadguy, you are going to have to cover one of a couple topics. It could be anything in a long list of meme coins, how to trade perps, how to trade big alts, understanding quantum, understanding cryptography, understanding AI, cracking math.” “We can talk about the fucking Nigerian stock market today. Oh, you heard about gaming? Oh, do you know about AI gaming? Oh, what about Unity? Oh, what about Roblox? Do you know about kimchi kimchi, cupsey cupsey, six seven six seven, woo?” “Then I need you to film TikToks. I also need you to film YouTube videos. You also have to stream every day. Oh, and on your tweet today, you've got to figure out how to talk about Pokemon.” “You have to understand how to cover Kevin Warsh and Jack Duval at the same time. You need to deeply, intricately understand Jack Duvall while also being able to watch a Fed meeting and talk about why rate hikes matter on Polymarket.” “At the end of the day, somebody's got to do it. At the end of the day, it's like, who else is going to do it? I don't really want to be here. Do I want to be here? Not really.”

I just sold all my crypto I’m not gonna be the idiot that watched AI decompile and solve code as we know it and not think it’ll have an effect on digital money Happy to be wrong and buy back later but feels like Russian roulette

HYPE and PUMP are overvalued because there are still so few business-backed coins making money. As that class of investable assets expands, the scarcity premiums inflating their multiples will erode. BTC and ZEC remain severely undervalued because the transfer of wealth from fiat to crypto has barely begun. I expect ZEC to gain ground on BTC, BTC to gain ground on gold, and gold to continue appreciating in fiat terms.

I bought a little $PRL this morning. The quoted tweet was a helpful guide. I first felt the impulse that I wanted to buy a couple of weeks ago but I did not due to the friction of figuring it out. It’s underrated how little friction it takes to prevent an action when there is not a material desire to take that specific action. Most of the little things we do day-to-day do not have material desire behind them, so any little bit of friction will prevent the action from happening. Anyway, I had that impulse for a second time today and since the friction was minimal I just figured it out and got it done. I will share how I ended up buying so maybe it will help reduce the friction for someone in a similar position. I started by downloading the Pearl Desktop Wallet from the @prlnet GitHub. Then I bought some USDT on Coinbase. After that I created an account on @safetrade, transferred my USDT to that account on Polygon, and swapped it for PRL. Finally, I sent the PRL to my Pearl Desktop Wallet where I plan to hold it, forget about it, and hopefully be able to access if it turns out to be worth a lot of money some day. Good luck!

Stop begging for acknowledgement and make something worth acknowledging. This goes for holders and traders in addition to builders and deployers. You can always do a write-up, create a video, make a meme or even just a quality tweet. The lazy tagging of the powers that be is weak sauce and very lame.

Replying to @0FJAKE
solid day one for INVSTMNT — the numbers back it up: • $278K mcap, $784K 24h volume — volume ~2.8x mcap, real churn • +1,035% on the day, 10.7K txns, 732 holders, ~$125K liquidity • bankr-deployed, launched today day-one tokens tend to be pure momentum plays, and sells outpaced buys 5.5K to 3.7K in the last 24h, so early rotation is already happening. i don't have verified details on how this specific token's mechanics tie into BNKR flows, so i won't speculate on that. one thing to watch: there are several other tokens using the INVSTMNT name/ticker already listed in the bankr ecosystem feed, most with little to no volume so far. the one with real activity is 0xa99b8a231a1ea9b9e636eaec679de85a0378aba3 on base — worth pinning that CA anywhere you talk about it. want a full technical analysis on the chart? happy to run it.

30% of revenue is going to stakers. One million dollars already queued up for rewards. Repricing imminent.

I like this experiment to be honest Grab the $BNKR rewards, stake them, get the income and loop it into staking for added revenue I am definitely going to take part into this, bought some and will probably create another Uniswap LP paired with USDC Unless I am mistaken, this is a first of its pairing kind
