Stratford to Paris? Yes please. I’m supporting Sadiq’s calls to turn Stratford International into a truly international station. Jobs, opportunity, growth - day trip to Paris? all of it is possible from East London!
Stratford is one of Europe’s great regeneration success stories. It’s ready for its next chapter - European rail links. I’m proud to say I’m working with the government to deliver new cross-Channel trains from East London. The benefits would be felt far beyond our city. cityam.com/sadiq-khan-run-in…

Cargo bike use in London is booming - up 126% since 2022. This week I joined 50 businesses - from Royal Mail to delivery firms, waste companies & tradespeople - to celebrate & raise awareness of this clean, green & economical alternative to diesel vans. #CargoBikeCruiseLDN

On the day we congratulate Burnham as he enters No 10, I wanted to gift him the good news that climate and environmental ambition speaks exactly to the people he wants his government to deliver for. lcef.co.uk/blog/good-news-fo…

I’m issuing a high air pollution alert for London on Monday 22 June. Hot, sunny weather and pollution from continental Europe are expected to raise ozone levels. Please help protect yourself and others, especially vulnerable people, by reducing car journeys and avoiding engine idling.

Spent the weekend in Sheffield and loved seeing all the amazing new space & greenery that has been created for people to enjoy the city centre. Great work @SheffCouncil @Ed_Clancy @olivercoppard 👏👏👏 Absolute inspiration for London! @willnorman @MayorofLondon @MumsForLungs

Perhaps time to speed up plans / MoUs to get many more trains running through the Channel Tunnel? Can’t believe it runs at around half of capacity 😬 Please turn crisis into opportunity @Heidi_Labour 🙏 European Airlines Face Fuel Shortages Within Weeks nytimes.com/2026/04/16/busin…

Who is the 'Defender' really defending? Here's hoping London's rules on dangerous #SUVs mandates every one of them to dress for military service 24/7. Let's be honest, it's where they belong🫡#carspreading 🚸@solveschoolrun @willnorman @SebDance

Which public transport authority says on one day "...without action to address oversized and heavier vehicles, more people will be seriously injured or killed" and advertises massive SUVs on the other? 😬 @TfL @willnorman @SebDance #carspreading

It's unfortunate and ironic to pit families against each other given that action against #carspreading is actually about stopping kids from being hurt. Polling shows London parents are rightly concerned that bigger cars make it more dangerous for children to walk and cycle.
Sadiq Khan's latest plans for a tax on larger vehicles in London is just a family car tax, squeezing more money out of families already struggling with rising petrol costs and a myriad of other tolls and taxes to use their vehicle. It's his anti-car agenda, plain and simple.

We’ve made progress, but no one should lose their life on our roads. We’re rolling out 20mph limits, safer high streets and school routes, and more crossings. Together, we can create streets where everyone feels safe.

Tragic decision given bus speeds are at a 10yr low and this spot is especially bad. Painful irony too coming from the Cabinet Member for Inequality given that people on the lowest incomes rely most on buses. Let alone, supporting buses is supporting a public service for everyone.
📢 We’ve listened to residents & will not proceed with the proposed bus lane on the B106 corridor (Colney Hatch Lane → Bounds Green Road). Hear from @CllrSeema on how we’ll find a solution together. 🔗 bit.ly/4aZ1Smh

Great to see new powers for councils to end blight of pavement parking in England. This announcement couldnt have come soon enough given cars are getting heavier & wider every year making pavement parking even more untenable and dangerous #carspreading thisismoney.co.uk/money/cars…

Cant imagine anyone accepts trees should be used as EV charging gantries 😱. A sad encroachment of car culture on nature, partly down to price (domestic vs public) but also local plans/comms. We need charging masterplans that map out options for residents today and in future ⚡️🚗

I'm in favour of higher taxes on bigger cars. SUVs are inappropriate in cities. Dangerous to other road users, environmentally damaging, and take up too much space on our roads. And we make £2billion to spend elsewhere.

Hats off to Cardiff taking a stand against #carspreading 👏. A child under 10 is 3x more likely to be killed by an SUV and it's the heaviest cars more likely to lead to fatal collisions. Then there's the fact they simply dont fit in urban parking spaces, inconveniencing everyone!
🚨 Cardiff has made UK history! We’re the first council in Britain to agree to charge higher parking fees for SUVs and heavy cars. 🧵
