Purposefully jettisoned regular engagement on X ~4 yrs ago... too much cognitive noise and growing pains. Was a good decision for my 🧠.
That said, can't deny - this place is a bastion for innovation. Continuing to lurk. Still here, ready to lend aid, even if 🤫 is my default.

Listening to the Rings of Power soundtrack and realizing @bearmccreary has managed to pay homage to @Hshoremusic while also doing something totally new and innovative...
This is just the ❄️coolest❄️...

Thanks @kenrickcai and @Forbes for the nice writeup 🙌
Using Apple's new Universal Control feature for unifying Macs and iPads is... works WAY better than I thought it would. I suspect this will be a total game change for my workflow. Just ordered an iPad desk mount.
Some musings on why I believe digital 'whiteboards' should be treated as so much more than the physical counterparts that inspired them.
TL;DR - I'm convinced the format is fast-becoming a defining piece of digital infrastructure for the #FutureOfWork.

What a lovely surprise to wake up to this feature article in @ProductHunt's Daily Digest! Really fun to think about the #futureofwork. Leaning in to embrace 'best-in-breed' tools, not away from them. Onward!

We launched something big (and deeply meaningful for me personally) today: The New InVision.
It’s been a joy to see this moment come to fruition after over a decade of work focusing on design teams. Have a number of thoughts/feels on this… a thread! 🧵
Meet the new InVision 🚀
InVision is now the place for teams of all kinds to come together, get organized, meet, brainstorm, and push work forward.
Learn how we’re transforming collaboration—for all the work you do 🤝 invisionapp.info/3HPJnRi
It’s also changed the way we run meetings here internally. Gone are the ‘talking heads’ of video calls. We don’t gab about the work, we DO the work together on one shared canvas. We jam through agenda items in real time. Way less 'meeting fatigue' and more 'jam session'.
And today? Honestly we use it for everything. Like, EVERYTHING. Budget approvals with integrated Google sheets, tech stack documentation for engineering with JIRA issue connection, campaign planning for marketing etc.
As we began to integrate live content from other products (ex: editable Google Doc for live copy on-canvas), we realized how natural it felt to weave in documents of all types into an infinite canvas; much better than a mess of browser tabs or buried content inside linear docs.
Teams were asking for a visual ‘work’ canvas. Sure, whiteboards were a known concept, but they didn’t quite solve the 'digital itch' in a way we all hankered for. We needed more than a replicant of a physical surface, we needed scale, modularity, and mark up transcendence.
We found ourselves in a time and place where better solutions were needed to help a struggling world adapt to the realities of remote work… something we were uniquely able to empathize with as a team who has been fully distributed for 11+ years.
The pandemic crystalized focus. A terribly challenging time of uncertainty for the world at large -- tens of thousands of teams had a real, dire need for better solutions for digital collaboration. Not just design teams. Everyone. Freehand usage spiked. ↗️ statista.com/statistics/1122…
