This was my first green month in the trenches. 58 SOL, worth around $14k at the moment.
Back then, making $14k in a single month felt absolutely insane to me.
Fast forward one year and three months, and making $14k a month doesn't feel nearly as hard as it once did.
Since then, I've had $200k months. Numbers I wouldn't have even dreamed of back then.
But looking back at how much $10k meant to me at the time made me realize something:
The trenches have completely distorted our perception of money.
Making $10k today feels like making $500 a year ago.
And that's honestly scary.
We get so used to seeing crazy numbers on a screen that we forget what those numbers actually mean in the real world.
Just because making money has become easier doesn't mean that money has become less valuable.
Never lose perspective.
Binance Exploit: why a breach at one exchange shook the wider crypto market.
@Binance estimates roughly $6.3 billion was affected. Its preliminary investigation points to a compromised engineer’s laptop that may have enabled unauthorized withdrawals.
That is an enormous security failure. But the size of the breach alone doesn’t explain the market reaction.
The bigger issue is how much trading depends on confidence and on money being able to move.
When an exchange as large as Binance gets hit, investors start questioning the safety of keeping funds on exchanges. Some reduce exposure immediately. They can sell Bitcoin, ETH or other assets on another platform, so the pressure spreads beyond Binance.
Then liquidity gets tighter.
Market makers keep buy and sell orders available across exchanges. To do that, they need to move capital between venues. Binance’s suspension of deposits and withdrawals makes that harder. Analysts quoted by Reuters reported wider spreads and thinner spot liquidity.
That matters because prices are set by the orders available right now. If buyers pull back, the same amount of selling can push prices down much further.
Leverage can make the move worse.
When prices fall, traders using borrowed money may no longer have enough collateral to keep their positions open. Forced closures can add more selling pressure, pushing prices toward the next group of liquidation levels.
This is how an exchange security incident can become a broader market shock: confidence weakens, liquidity thins, and leveraged positions become more vulnerable.
It also explains why a decline in total crypto market value can exceed the amount affected by the breach. Market capitalization reprices every circulating coin at the latest price. A $1 billion decline in market value does not mean $1 billion was withdrawn or stolen.
There is an important counterpoint.
Binance says around $3 billion has been frozen and that it will cover losses. That could limit the eventual damage. But frozen funds are not the same as recovered funds, and a promise to cover losses doesn’t instantly restore normal transfers or market confidence.
The investigation is ongoing. This incident does not prove that Bitcoin’s network was hacked, or that every market decline came from this single event.
What matters next: verified recovery figures, the restoration of deposits and withdrawals, and a complete technical explanation of what failed.
Not investment advice.
A perfect example of this is @alxcooks, who I consider one of the best on-chain traders.
He's so used to making $10k+ a day that when he makes less than $5k, he feels devastated.
But think about it for a second.
How many people would do anything to make $5k in a single day?
That's how much the trenches have distorted our perception of money.
At some point, we stop appreciating how much we're making and start focusing only on how much more we could've made.
The trenches have made us amounts of money we couldn't have even dreamed of a year ago.
But no matter how much we make, we need to stay grounded and never lose sight of the real value of money.
There's still so much money to be made on-chain, and I genuinely hope that one day I'll have my first $1M month.
But until then, and even if that day comes, I never want to forget where I started or how much the numbers I take for granted today once meant to me.
Never let making more money make you appreciate it less.

Payward, the parent company of Kraken, announced its intention to be the first CFTC-regulated deployer on HIP-3* markets. Payward will use Hyperliquid as the infrastructure layer to deploy perpetual futures markets for US clients. Subject to regulatory approval, Bitnomial, Payward’s CFTC-regulated DCM and DCO, would act as the HIP-3* deployer: creating, owning, and administering the markets and clearing and settling the contracts. If approved, NinjaTrader Clearing, Payward’s CFTC-registered FCM, would carry client accounts.
HIP-3 will support optional deployer configuration for permissioned markets in a future network upgrade. This set of additional deployer functionality is collectively called HIP-3*. At its core, HIP-3* activation involves an onchain allowlist managed by the deployer or its sub-deployers. The functionality is strictly additive to HIP-3; its use is optional and up to the deployer. Existing markets remain unchanged. The initial release is available on testnet, where specifications are preliminary and subject to change based on feedback.
Hyperliquid is a neutral infrastructure layer with the goal of supporting large parts of the financial system. HIP-3* gives deployers additional functionality to operate deployments consistent with the requirements applicable to them. As with HIP-3, HIP-3* deployers are independent operators who use Hyperliquid as the onchain infrastructure layer for their own markets, while retaining control and responsibility over their deployment.

We always see the same pattern in RH, it moons, drops, accumulates between 0.786-0.618 and then it runs to a new ATH. robinhood:0x83a49b808f8d5e02cb2931cd2352988f498e5ba3 is one of the best narratives of RH rn, I'll DCA this shit till 6m.

Introducing Ondo Intelligent Portfolios, the first three portfolios powered by BlackRock.
Ondo Intelligent Portfolios introduces a new onchain product category: curated investment portfolios delivered as single onchain transferable tokens.
The first three portfolios are based on portfolio strategies developed by BlackRock for Ondo, marking the first time eligible onchain investors can access exposure to such strategies through a single token.
1. BLKHIon: Ondo High Income Powered by BlackRock
2. BLKDIGon: Ondo Diversified Growth Powered by BlackRock
3. BLKGRWon: Ondo High Growth Powered by BlackRock
Diversified, professionally constructed strategies have historically required brokerage accounts and traditional fund structures. Now, delivered as peer-to-peer transferable tokens from Ondo, these onchain portfolios become accessible to eligible non-US investors in permitted jurisdictions through the wallets, exchanges, and DeFi applications they already use.
“Tokenization creates new ways for portfolio strategies to be delivered through digital infrastructure. Diversified portfolio strategies can be incorporated into tokenized investment products, enabling eligible investors to access diversified allocations through a single instrument. It shows how established portfolio construction approaches can be delivered through new channels and technologies.” - Lisa O’Connor, Global Head of the Model Portfolio Solutions team and Co-CIO for Global Solutions within the Multi-Asset Strategies group at BlackRock
Ondo Intelligent Portfolios can unlock novel capabilities:
→ Programmatic rebalancing
→ Full composability with DeFi
→ Complete transparency onchain
→ Multiple asset classes in a single token
This is just the start for Ondo Intelligent Portfolios. The infrastructure is now in place for leading financial institutions to bring their asset allocation expertise onchain.
