Why we're doing it this way Here's something I've learned the hard way: going from zero to one, in a market moving this fast and this competitive, takes relentless grinding. Real sacrifice — the kind most people, reasonably, aren't willing or able to make. Seven days a week, for a long stretch, going further than feels comfortable. That's the bet we're making. We're putting real ownership, real budget, and the infrastructure and customers most startups spend years earning behind one founding team — and giving them a real, outsized upside if they pull it off: up to €50 million in Mollie equity. In exchange, they're taking on real risk: lower salary: there's not a lot of time to be spending it anyway, genuine personal dedication. If the team isn't performing, we'll replace it. We are creating a setup that’s agile by design — the team will work in ring-fenced environment, which gives us room to take more risks and move faster. But it can still leverage what Mollie has built: scale, customers, (banking) infrastructure, etc.
