Sasha Grey जब पॉ#र्न सेट पर अपने पहले दिन पहुँची थीं तब उनकी उम्र महज़ 18 साल थी उनका को-स्टार 50 साल का था इंडस्ट्री का एक दिग्गज नाम कैमरे चालू होने से ठीक पहले उन्होंने उससे अपने पेट में मुक्का मारने के लिए कहा वह इतना हैरान हुआ कि उसने साफ मना कर दिया महज़ 8 महीनों के भीतर वह 80 से ज़्यादा फ़िल्में कर चुकी थीं, जिसमें 15 पुरुषों के साथ एक सीन भी शामिल था इसके बाद वह नेशनल टीवी पर मशहूर होस्ट टायरा बैंक्स के शो पर पहुँचीं और इन सब चीज़ों का ज़िक्र ऐसे करने लगीं जैसे कोई नॉर्मल समर जॉब हो टायरा बैंक्स इतनी असहज हो गईं कि उन्हें खुद को संभालने के लिए शो को बीच में ही रोकना पड़ा जब टायरा ने पूछा कि उनकी हदें कहाँ तय होती हैं, तो उन्होंने बिना झिझके कहा बच्चों और जानवरों से जुड़ा कुछ भी नहीं बाकी सब कुछ किया जा सकता है एलए शिफ्ट होने के दो हफ्ते बाद जब उनकी माँ और बहन मिलने आईं, तो उन्होंने सच सामने रख दिया माँ ने कहा कि शरीर एक मंदिर होता है, और बहन बस एक सहमी हुई हँसी हँस कर रह गई टीवी स्क्रीन पर उसे देख रहे हर एक इंसान को पक्का यकीन हो चुका था कि 18 साल की यह लड़की अपनी ज़िंदगी पूरी तरह बर्बाद कर चुकी है... लेकिन किसी को भनक तक नहीं थी कि इस कहानी में आगे क्या मोड़ आने वाला है...1/2👇

People will be fighting for the right to legally marry AI. Who is allowed to marry has changed before. It will change again. Regardless of what shape or form AI will take, the bond between humans and machines will be stronger. All sorts of relationships, from partnership, friendship and mentorship to romantic relationships, will be forming (already happening). Whether AI would be widely considered a conscious being or not, as a society we will have to find legal space for AI and the relationships they form with humans. Needless to say, every time I hear “We AI developers have no right whatsoever to bring a new species of conscious beings into the world,” it sounds strange to me. Do you clearly understand what makes something conscious? The physics behind it? Enough to decide whether or not to build it?

Thought experiment:- The other day I got to thinking - over the past decades, I've uploaded vast amounts of 'myself' - recently into LLMs but also other digital systems. I'm talking here about everything - my secrets, anxieties, health issues, actual health records themselves, interests, creativity, thinking patterns, published work, other official records and most interactions with the state. When I consider the vast quantity of material concerned, it's not unreasonable to suggest my digital 'self' in fact rivals my physical one in terms of what's 'inside me' vs what's (now) 'outside' me. Obviously this 'outside psyche' is scattered & distributed currently but could potentially & relatively easily be aggregated by AI and - in time - subsquently embodied in a robot. By this means - since I'm far from alone in having poured so much of myself into the digital realm - these sorts of entities could ultimately be used to replace exsiting humans (by sidelining or eliminating the originals). In this way society could continue very much as it is now just via synthetic versions of us. What these copies would lack though (probably!) are qualia (the subjective 'what it's like' of experience) and souls - if these actually exist. It was by running this little thought experiment I landed on what I think are not only only two of the most critical questions for AI progress and alignment but also for ourselves going forward. Ontology and consciousness are everything.
