Never almost ended up homeless who making this false narratives
POWERFUL: #Commanders Pro Bowl WR Deebo Samuel says his MOTHER was not around growing up because she got caught up in the “street life” and he nearly ended up homeless.
Deebo had to move in with his grandmother until he was a freshman and she got sick, he nearly became homeless, “I had nowhere to live. Nowhere to go. No one, I felt like, I could turn to”
He says then his stepmom, Precious, took him in and kept strict guidelines to assure his grades were good enough. "My grades weren’t the best, but she clamped down on me… I really think she saved my life. Sh*t, she raised me.”
Deebo went down to be a star in college and an All-Pro & Pro Bowler in the #NFL.
Remarkable journey ❤️👏

Washington Commanders head coach Dan Quinn on wide receiver Deebo Samuel:
“It was an easy fit in terms of how we would feature him in some packages whether it’s two backs or three backs or no backs and he’s a back. All of those things can add difficult matchups. The hardest one I’ve seen, tackle him. He’s fast, but he brings it.
The strength in his lower body. When he puts his foot in the ground, there’s an explosiveness that you feel, that gets generated. He’s really applied himself this offseason.”
