You hate men, but when you need help, you turn to men. You hate men, but you've never turned to your fellow women to help you... Because you know they're just as useless as you.

Snoop Dogg explained in 80 seconds why men stopped approaching women. Do men not shoot their shot anymore because social media turned dating into a simulation? Snoop says yes, and his reason is better than the usual “phones ruined everything” take. In his era, getting with someone took real effort. You had to look at her, talk to her, get her to like you, and know her parents and how she moved. You had to get involved before you could get involved. Now it’s a couple of pictures and a couple of lines, and people expect something real from a few typed words. The part I found most interesting is his point about texting. A text gives you what he’s typing, not what he’s saying. “You look good today” can read as sweet or creepy depending on the mood of the person reading it. Text has no tone, face or feeling to go with it. Approaching someone in person is hard on purpose. It makes you learn to read people, handle a no, and become someone worth talking to. When you skip that, you also skip what it would have taught you. What he calls the cheat code ended up costing men the skill.

Juvenile says he signed to Cash Money for $2,000 a week. Birdman says the label's masters pay him $20 to $30 million a year. "I'm like, look, if you could pay me two grand a week, I quit my job. Matter of fact, I take a leave of absence right now and just start going to the studio," Juvenile says. He was working turnarounds at a plant when the label drove him home. He asked for three weeks of advance. "That's how we took it from there," he says. The host adds: "So you basically signed for six grand." Birdman made his $20 to $30 million claim on the Million Dollaz Worth of Game podcast in 2021. The case for Juvenile: he left a plant job for $6,000 up front, while the label's masters keep paying. The case for Birdman: the label took the risk, and Juvenile says "they broke some bread with me." In the video below, Juvenile tells how the first deal happened. If a label signs an unknown artist for $2,000 a week, should the artist share in the masters?

As a woman, if you know your man is always ready to fuck you, why the hell are you waiting for him to initiate sex every single time? Sometimes be the woman who pulls him close, grabs him and make it clear you want that dick too.

Ice Cube was $100,000 short on a house. He went to his label's office with a baseball bat. The next day, he got a check for $100,000. The phone call, he says: "Cube, I don't know what you talking about. I don't remember saying I would give you that." His answer: "I'm on my way up there." Early 1990s, Los Angeles, Priority Records. His 1990 debut album had already gone platinum, and he was trying to close on a house. He says he walked in with his crew and a bat. The boss was in the bathroom. When he came out, they were waiting. Cube says he "rearranged his office for him." Downstairs, he says, the LAPD was waiting at the elevator. The other owner told police he wanted no charges. Then he asked Cube to call him the next day. Label co-founder Bryan Turner told Rolling Stone: "That did actually happen." He said he should have renegotiated. The movie Straight Outta Compton made it one scene. In the video below, Ice Cube tells how it really went, starting with what the movie got wrong. Was he wrong, if it was the only way to get what he was promised?
