If Saban had actually retired that would be one thing; instead he's taken on multiple new jobs in an attempt to both reframe his legacy and advocate against the sport's evolution, while also influencing coaching searches and helping his agent position clients.

Listen to the athletes. Listen to those who represent them. This bill isn’t about protecting college athletes—it’s about protecting wealthy coaches, powerful institutions, and an NCAA that’s held unbridled power for decades while athletes faced discrimination and injustice.

Nick Saban's arrogance after joining us talking heads is starting to bother me, as if he's the voice of all things college football.
You quit when you no longer could control everything + out-talent everyone, took your ball and went home.
The NIL Era In College Sports Is The 1st Time The Black College Athlete Has EVER Had Financial FREEDOM! The Slave Owners Are All Now Sayin “We Can’t Let This Happen” (It’s Bad For The System They’ve Built). Protect College Sport Act Is To Reel In The Players & Not The Coaches!

An MS grand jury met in secret, heard only what the DA chose to show, and says Nolan Wells simply drowned. Outrageous. Trust isn't built behind closed doors. Release the evidence. Disclose the jury's makeup. Horn Island is federal land. Let DOJ review. #JusticeForNolan

Two Klansmen drove around Mobile, Alabama looking for any Black person to kill. They found a 19-year-old walking to the store for cigarettes.
His mother spent the next six years dismantling the Ku Klux Klan in a courtroom. Michael Donald. March 1981.
They beat him, killed him, and hung his body from a tree on a residential street, across from a Klansman's house, so the city would see it in the morning.
Police initially suggested it was a drug deal.
It was not. It was a Klan retaliation for a jury's failure to convict a Black defendant in another case — a life taken at random to send a message.
Beulah Mae Donald refused every version of the story except the true one. She pushed until the FBI reopened it. One killer confessed. The other was executed in 1997 — the first white man executed in Alabama for killing a Black person since 1913.
Then she did the thing nobody expected. She sued the United Klans of America itself.
In 1987 an all-white Alabama jury awarded her seven million dollars. The Klan had no money — so it handed over its national headquarters building. The organization was finished.
A mother buried her son and bankrupted the Ku Klux Klan.
