My ex had this guy friend I was always uncomfortable with. Every time I brought him up, she'd cry and tell me I was being controlling.
At one point I actually felt so bad that I messaged the guy and apologised for making things weird between them.
Two weeks later she left me for him.
Found out they'd been hooking up for months while we were still together.
I literally apologised to the guy my girlfriend was cheating on me with.
My landlord texted me asking if I could pay the next three months of rent in advance.
I asked if something had happened.
He said no, he was just planning a family vacation and needed some extra cash.
I told him I couldn't afford to pay three months upfront.
He replied that he'd always considered me a good tenant and expected a little cooperation.
I reminded him that I'd paid my rent on time every single month for two years.
He said that was different because paying rent was my responsibility.
Apparently, financing his holiday is also my responsibility now.
My ex and I broke up almost a year ago. She ended things, blocked me everywhere, and told our mutual friends she was happier without me.
I never bothered her again.
Last week, I posted a picture with my new girlfriend for the first time.
Within an hour, my ex had unblocked me and sent a paragraph about how disrespectful it was to make our past relationship look meaningless.
She said I should've considered how she'd feel before making it public.
I still don't understand how someone can leave your life voluntarily and then get offended when your life continues without them.
My landlord just increased my rent because the apartment now has air conditioning.
I bought the AC myself, paid for the installation, and covered every expense because he refused to install one.
Now he's saying the apartment is worth more because it has better facilities.
I reminded him that the AC belongs to me.
He said, "Yeah, but it's installed in my property."
So apparently, I spent my own money improving his apartment, and now I have to pay him extra for it.
Can't wait for him to increase the rent because I bought a new sofa.
My landlord asked me to water his plants while he was away for a week. I agreed because he’s always been pretty decent to me.
Every evening, I'd go upstairs, water the plants, and make sure everything was fine.
On the fourth day, I ran into him in the parking lot.
I asked, "Wait, I thought you were out of town?"
He looked at me and said, "Oh, I'm staying with my girlfriend on the second floor."
I asked why he couldn't water his own plants.
He said, "Because she doesn't know I own the building. I told her I'm renting."
I've been watering a grown man's plants so he can pretend he's broke.
My younger brother asked me for relationship advice because his girlfriend had been ignoring his texts.
I told him to give her some space.
Ten minutes later, his girlfriend texted me saying he wasn't putting in enough effort.
Neither knew they were both asking me for advice.
Then they both sent me screenshots of the same argument, asking who was wrong.
I told both of them to apologise.
Now they're back together, and both think I took their side.
I found out my friend has been telling people I'm his personal driver because I always pick him up.
I've been picking this guy up for almost two years. From his house, the gym, restaurants, random places. Never once asked him for petrol money because he's my friend.
Yesterday, I met one of his friends for the first time, and he casually asked me how long I'd been working for him.
I laughed because I thought he was joking.
Turns out my friend has been telling people he hired me as his personal driver and pays me monthly.
The same guy who asks me to stop for food and then says he forgot his wallet.
Anyway, he called me this morning asking for a ride.
I told him his driver had resigned.
A restaurant accidentally delivered someone else's anniversary dinner to my house. It came with flowers, candles, dessert, and a handwritten note saying, "I'd choose you in every lifetime."
I called the restaurant to tell them they'd made a mistake. They asked if I'd opened the food. I said yes. Then they asked if I'd eaten any.
I was literally chewing the pasta while answering.
They told me to keep everything and sent a replacement to the actual couple.
So apparently I've been in a relationship for six years tonight.
My dad asked me to teach him how to use Instagram yesterday.
I helped him create an account, showed him how to search for people, follow them, and scroll through posts.
This morning, I checked his profile out of curiosity.
He was following exactly one person.
My ex-girlfriend.
I asked him why.
He said, “She always asks how I'm doing. You don't.”
Someone left flowers outside my apartment with a note that said, “I'm sorry about last night. I should've told you the truth.”
I live alone. I wasn't home last night.
I figured they had the wrong apartment, so I left the flowers outside.
An hour later, my neighbor knocked on my door.
She asked if I'd seen the flowers.
I said yeah, someone must've got the wrong address.
She looked confused and said, “No, I left them for you.”
Apparently, her boyfriend told her he'd spent the night at my apartment.
I've never met the guy.
My landlord texted me this morning asking if I could pay next month's rent two weeks early.
I thought something serious had happened, so I asked if everything was okay.
He said everything was fine, but he'd booked a holiday and needed some extra spending money before leaving.
I told him I wasn't expecting to pay rent until the actual due date and hadn't budgeted for an early payment.
He said, "I don't see what the issue is. You're going to pay it anyway."
So I asked if I could pay my rent two weeks late next month because I was also planning a holiday.
He replied, "Your personal financial decisions are not my responsibility."
This man genuinely believes my salary has a joint account with his travel plans.
My friend lost his job last week and told us he couldn't afford to celebrate his birthday this year. So the entire group secretly planned a dinner and split the bill before he even arrived.
When he asked how much he owed, we told him it was already taken care of.
He went quiet for a moment and said, “I really needed this.”
Sometimes friendship is just making sure someone doesn't feel alone when life gets hard.
a girl at the café asked me to watch her laptop for five minutes while she went outside to take a phone call
i said sure because obviously what else was i supposed to say
20 minutes passed. then 40. then an entire hour.
at this point i'd already finished my coffee, ordered another one and cancelled the plans i had because i genuinely didn't know what to do with someone's expensive laptop
after almost THREE HOURS i finally went to the counter and explained everything to the barista
he looked at the laptop, looked at me and started laughing
apparently the girl had come back through the other entrance, collected her bag and left thinking the laptop belonged to ME
SHE ASKED ME TO WATCH MY OWN LAPTOP AND I DIDN'T EVEN NOTICE IT WAS MINE BECAUSE WE HAD THE EXACT SAME CASE 😭
I gave up my window seat on a flight so a couple could sit together, and I genuinely regret it.
I'd booked that seat weeks in advance because I hate sitting in the middle. Just before takeoff, a woman asked if I'd switch with her husband. His seat was in the last row, right next to the bathroom.
I wasn't thrilled, but I figured it was a long flight and they just wanted to sit together, so I agreed.
About an hour later, I went to use the bathroom and overheard them laughing about how they never pay extra to sit together because someone always agrees to switch.
Apparently, they'd been doing this for years.
I looked at her and said, "So you knew you weren't sitting together when you booked?"
She smiled and said, "Well, people are usually nice about it."
I didn't say anything else. I just walked back to my terrible seat.
Four hours next to a bathroom, listening to the door open and close, because two grown adults figured out how to make their cheap tickets someone else's problem.
Next time someone asks me to switch seats, I'm saying no.
I paid for the seat I wanted. They can do the same.
