Since Sept. 18, 2025, the Clyde S. Cahill Courts Building has been experiencing a telephone service outage resulting from the theft of underground lines outside the courthouse. Service at the Carnahan Courthouse and Juvenile Division is not affected.

The Sheriff does not investigate nor seek evidence. That is the duty of our internal affairs department.

The sheriff office has legal authority to detain anyone no matter your capacity, popularity and or political status. No One Is Above The Law. The sheriffs office will continue to exercise its authority according to Statute and the constitution.
