The biggest and most important point about it all is that there is absolutely nothing on the market that even comes close to AC PvP so if Armored Core turned into bullshit (like it did) it would be all over.

The only things holding down the 1v1 ownage market anymore are fighting games and those are also experiencing some of what AC is going through with their chase for mass appeal. And fighting games don't hit the same 3D high mobility high customization ownage niche that AC has.

My final thoughts on AC8 are that it has the best gameplay in the series, very good missions, and the soundtrack was awesome. My only complaints are the SP weapon selection, some missions could have been done better or removed entirely, and the final boss being ass.

One final nitpick is that I really don't like when Ace difficulty is not available from the start, I love Ace Combat but I can't stand playing these games in anything but the hardest difficulty and this isn't even a "I am too good" flex, the games are just generally too easy.

I was too naive to think I would never see a worse multiplayer experience than GBO2 but Project Aces somehow managed to pull it off. I am actually on my knees they really did something I thought was impossible.

Being unable to customize your planes while matchmaking is also very annoying. GBO2 has a horrible matchmaker too but at least I get to customize my hundreds of suits in the meantime, in AC:O I get to play Pacman or jump around the walkable lobby.

I respect the big Mr. Pac but it's a little silly that they let you play the arcade cabinets instead of being able to use any of the other menus while matchmaking.

Do not use the airfield right before the timer ends in mission 28 or you will soft lock the game if the cutscene plays right as you complete the lading.
