As we celebrate #InternationalPodcastDay, we look at how far the continent has come in curating its own stories. The fireside conversations of our grandparents may have faded with the flames, but today we keep them alive through voice and visuals.

It taught us that African stories travel far, a belief that still shapes everything we do at 2Sistars Media. Here are the voices carrying that work forward 👇🏾
We tell stories, discuss issues, and connect with one another about this continent we love. Take the example closest to our hearts: Storyzfromyhair, a blog born in 2009 that grew into a podcast in 2020.

🇳🇴🇺🇬 On the SAME DAY Europe's OLDEST reigning monarch died in Norway, the world's YOUNGEST reigning monarch died in Uganda...
What are the odds of that??
We found out yesterday that King Harald V of Norway died peacefully at the age of 89; he had ruled the Nordic country for 35 years.
But we've also now learned that Oyo Nyimba Kabamba Iguru Rukidi IV of Uganda passed away yesterday, at 34.
The King of Tooro in western Uganda became king at just 3-years-old, in 1995.
Uganda is governed by an elected president and parliament, but does still have several traditional kingdoms, more of a cultural influence.
The "youngest monarch," who has ruled since 1995, and the "oldest monarch" (in Europe), who has ruled since 1991, both died on the same day...
RIP to both of them... that's just objectively insane!!
