Company LinkedIn page looks almost legit with mutual connections that follow the page or have connected with the team. But this can be built. LinkedIn meta is accepting all invites anyway (ahem @blockchaynwayne you follow this).
The JD has language that's too generic and a commitment-to-comp ratio that's too good to be true.
After sharing the JD, he invites you a TG group with 4 team members. They all have TG "stories" that date back to April showcasing lavish lifestyles and supposedly conference footages. This is supposed to be convincing.
The founder, Sam Moon, shares some more bs excerpt. This is where I got his personal site. His pic looks almost AI but had no SynthID. Googling shows a vague Crunchbase investor profile who has no investment history.
Checked whois - despite the company website's showing copyrighted in 2025 (prob intentional), the domain was registered in Mar 2026. Sam's domain was registered in Sep 2026.
This "legitimacy" took time to cook. It was enough for AI results to parse his background but not enough to explain the mismatches I discovered.
My first line in the group was a simple check - "what portfolio companies do you have?" Surely they'd fake this part too right? Instantly blocked. Chats cleared on TG and LinkedIn 😎⛓️⛓️
Part 2. New Discord phishing/account compromise method targeting team members.
1. Fake personnel/impersonator from a web3 media will open a ticket asking to interview for coverage, so only team members/mods are exposed. Account is firstname.lastname and is aged 5+ years.
In this case, Nynu Jamal is a "real" journalist listed on @CoinGapeMedia's website with latest articles written in Mar 2026.

Fake meeting link phish/drain just upgraded. This is what I just went through and have successfully prevented the next target in our mutual network from taking the call.
1. Historically these requests come from "project collabs" or "job offers". This time, it came from a known contact since 2021 who was recently compromised.
Pre-meeting banter checked out. His physical location and other context made sense. In retrospect, the hacker got all this information by accessing his TG conversations, or more.
3. Verification uses the Invite Tracker bot, which isn't uncommon. Except it isn't Invite Tracker#0478 (real) but Invite Tracker#5375 (fake). But you can't really tell unless you expand the bot's profile.
The real bot was created in 2020 and would be in tons of mutual servers for your niche. The fake one was created this month as a complete replica. Except you probably get pwned if you "verify". Stay safe!
Bonus check - @CoinGapeMedia also doesn't have an official Discord server listed on its site.
