I'm convinced the recent Dead by Daylight drama is actually a full blown, rage bait psy-op. There is no way this is real life. No shot these are real human beings.
Everyday I see tweets how people miss @playnewworld and sad it's gone. Do we realize you can play the game right now until 2027? Everything functions, game is still fully online. There's more people posting how much they miss the game then actually playing it right now.

2. Entire government hacked by Clawdbot.
3. Now government wants everyone to register their Social Security numbers to their cell phones in a government database to stop extortion and kidnappings.
…Despite the fact that the last attempt was canceled because the database was hacked and used for kidnapping & extortion.

All this recent Mexico hysteria/nonsense really reinforced to me that there are a lot of people in this world who love being upset and hate the truth.
The level to which people got angry at me for being calm and saying, like, "Everything is fine you guys. Chill." was wild.
Like, "Oh you must be stressed!" No babe. I'm not stressed at all. I don't enjoy stress, I don't enjoy panicking. That's your addiction. Leave me out of it.
You are stressed that I'm not stressed? That I feel happy and safe in Mexico?
You don't live in this country, you have no idea what's going on, and when people who actually live here tell you the truth, which is "Everything is fine" you are livid?

So I am back in the United States. I was in Mexico this past week but for obvious reasons did not want to post publicly about it.
One thing I will note is that a lot of the social media panic early in the week did not translate to reality on the ground in Mexico for American tourists. There was a clear effort to reassure tourists with a lot of military personnel. And even in Puerto Vallarta, I was told that the cartel was very careful about avoiding tourists during their retaliation.
I asked several people why they thought the cartel was so wary of harming Americans given American intel clearly played a role in taking out El Mencho and had several people directly say some version of "they are afraid of Trump".
I have plenty of disagreements with Trump on domestic and foreign policy, but there is no doubt for me that the perception of Trump as someone who is willing to use force and a little crazy has the affect of helping keep Americans safer abroad. Even from relatively violent actors.
