Today is the Birthday of Frank Murphy! Born April 13, 1890, in Harbor Beach, Murphy served as Mayor of Detroit before being elected Governor in 1936. Murphy supported New Deal programs, civil service reform, & labor laws. In 1940, he was appointed to the U.S. Supreme Court.
