Greetings all, I just wanted to provide a quick update regarding my dad, As of yesteday the ICU team has begun respitspiratory trials, this is effectively where they decrease the amount of press that the ventilator exherts, in an attempt to see if he can take over some control of his breath. This was attempt about 24 hours after the accident without success, however this most recent trial has met with some success. Further, internal bleeding remains controlled, However the risk of stroke and cardiac failure remain substantial. He retains some limted function of his right arm and hand, however he still does not have the use of his left arm, there is no sensation or movement below the waist. Additionally there is some evidence that he isn't able to articulate his left eye. Despite this is increasing evidence that his cognitition and awarness remain intact. I thank you all again for your thoughts and prayers through all of this, and your continued thoughts and prayers as we are far from out of the woods yet. I am some what uncomfortable bringing this up, but I am trying to raise funds for my mom, and the undoubtly the expenses that come along with the sort of substantial care my dad is receiving. There is one other matter I would like to address, though I must admit that I am somewhat uncomfortable bringing it up. I am currently trying to raise funds to help support my mom and provide some financial stability for our family as we navigate the uncertainty surrounding my dad's condition. For those who do not know, my mom suffers from a degenerative eye condition that prevents her from driving or working. My dad was preparing to begin a new job that would have provided some much-needed financial security for my parents. Unfortunately, his accident has left us facing not only the uncertainty of his recovery, but also the immediate challenge of keeping up with household expenses, essential bills, and the considerable costs that may accompany his long-term care. I am continuing my search for employment, but despite my efforts, I have not yet been successful. In the meantime, I am doing everything I can to help keep our family financially afloat. I understand that everyone has their own financial obligations, and I certainly do not want anyone to feel pressured to contribute.
