That’s a wrap!! The 4D Oceans lab killed it at @GeoHab23 and they’re off to the volcano tomorrow 🌋 #GeoHab @gradstudies @MemorialUSci @MUNGeog @marineinstitute
Next we had @Zmacmillankenny present his findings on mapping Ogak/Rock cod habitats in Nunatsiavut using community-identified fishing locations. Great work Zach! @gradstudies @MUNGeog @marineinstitute #GeoHab – at Saint-Paul, La Réunion
The rest of the 4D oceans team presents today!! First @Emmeb8 led a fantastic talk on mapping shifting species patterns in a changing climate using a hierarchical approach @marineinstitute @gradstudies #geohab
Lab members Poppy🚢🌊🌍(@poppy_keogh) and Aaron (@AaronSneep)🌱🌊🛶 will be presenting their MSc exit seminars to the folks at @MUNGeog and co. on Monday, Dec. 6th 12-noon NST.
DM us for the Zoom link if you want to join and see what they've been up to for the last two years!
Check out the lab feature in the @MUNGeog Research report! What a year its been for the department - special kudos to all the grad students👏🎉
Research report alert!! Check out what we - and especially our grad student community - have been up to for the past year. Housing & mobility & plastics & fire & trees & seafloor & sea ice & more, oh my!

Lab member, @poppy_keogh is the MIGS (Marine Institute Graduate Society) July Grad Student of the Month! Check out the feature ⬇️🌊🗣️
Last week, Lab member Julia participated in a live Q&A session for the International Society of Applied Phycology on her research on the distribution of Sieve kelp, coralline algae, and a species of green sea urchin in Placentia Bay, NL. Lots more lab sci-com updates soon🗣️🌊
Shreya finished up the presentations for the lab, showcasing her work on predicting the benthic communities of Mortier Bay and Long and Ship Harbour of Placentia Bay🌊 using a multi-scale feature selection approach! Check out those beautiful habitat maps 👏
Julia turned the comparison of two machine learning algorithms into a compelling story📚, which included her own beautiful illustrations🎨 of the benthic communities present at her study sites in Placentia Bay!
