Disclaimer: I haven't played Rogue Trader and I'm not very familiar with 40K. I'm very sympathetic to exploring the different ways games can reward you or fail to, and to what effect, but I'm going to try to unpick the points that stood out to me here. 🧵

a huge problem that a lot of RPGs have is that doing the right thing is 'free', or even explicitly rewards you. rogue trader does let you try to do right, at a cost if incurring costs from doing the right thing stops you, you aren't actually as good a person as you thought
