Now we have them realising that we voted for an absolute shambles of a deal that has left us weaker and at the behest of the tangerine traitor. xitter.cf/BBCNewsnight/status/19…
Nail on the head, too many fell for the lies the of the Leave campaign's promises to alleviate the consequences of the political choices of a government which had nothing whatsoever to do with the EU, look no further than this embarrassing video, embarrassing if you fell for it..

⏰ For six years since Britain left the Single Market, I’ve been waiting for a Prime Minister prepared to explain why we may have to go back in. Because of food security, energy security, investment, supply chains and national resilience. You cannot build a serious food-security strategy while putting permanent barriers between Britain and its largest neighbouring food market. You cannot talk about sovereignty while becoming more dependent on fragile global supply chains for food, fuel and fertiliser. And you cannot repair Brexit properly while refusing even to discuss the obligations that come with deeper European integration. At last we have a Prime Minister @andyburnham prepared to start giving the country some of the hard truths 👏 This conversation is long overdue.

He didn’t refuse to sell you fuel because you’re white. He refused because he’s heard your racist views. If a garage owner refused to serve an Asian man who called for white people to be deported, nobody would bat an eyelid. You can’t campaign to have people removed from the country, then cry when they don’t want you in their businesses. Put your big boy pants on and accept that words have consequences.

‘Pure arrogance’: anger in Finland as Google illegally fells 250,000 trees for datacentre @guardian “Behind a wire fence lies a vast gaping wound of earth. Before Google’s arrival a few months ago, an estimated quarter of a million trees occupied the 330 hectares (815 acres) of forest near the town of Muhos in rural northern Finland. Now they are all gone” Yet again our Natural world pays the price for humankind’s commercial drive, this time to continue expansion of the booming artificial intelligence & data industry Will we ever stop plundering our beautiful planets natural resources? theguardian.com/environment/…

“I would like to see that happen in my lifetime” Prime Minister Andy Burnham tells Good Morning Britain he believes Brexit has weakened the UK economy and its control over immigration. But he insists the British public must have the final say, ruling out a move to rejoin the EU during this Parliament.

Apart from forcing hundreds of thousands in to poverty with a £20billion cut to the benefit bill - based on the pretence they are foreigners (56% are protected under Brexit reciprocal arrangements), many more have worked and paid tax here Also 68000 job cuts to civil service in first year - more poverty and benefit spending....

Some are claiming that freedom of movement with the EU would mean hundreds of millions of Europeans wanting to come to Britain. They didn’t do that before 2016. The scale of the claim is absurd. And more importantly, free movement never meant anyone could simply move here indefinitely without meeting any conditions. After three months, people who weren’t working, studying or genuinely seeking work could lose their right to reside if they also lacked sufficient resources and health insurance. David Cameron’s government chose not to enforce those rules. Blaming free movement for that choice doesn’t make the scare stories true.

Fallout from the Starlink restrictions could hit US weapons exports such as the F-35. There were already concerns that the F-35 has a built-in software kill switch. And the US actions on Starlink just turned that risk from theoretical to something proven and real. Very costly choice by the US.

🔴 “Ministers must remain loyal to PM on Brexit or leave the cabinet.” That tells us Westminster now expects a decision serious enough to trigger collective responsibility. The Times reports that @AndyBurnham is expected to require cabinet ministers to support whatever closer-EU position he ultimately adopts. Angela Rayner says nothing should be off the table and expects the eventual policy to be put to voters, while ministers themselves remain divided over how far Britain should move back towards Europe. (The Times) That makes 20 November increasingly consequential. The UK-EU summit in Brussels is now the point around which Burnham has promised to set out the options for Britain’s long-term relationship with Europe. What emerges could be: a menu of options for national debate; a preferred Government destination; or an explicit commitment to remove Labour’s inherited Brexit red lines.

This is net migration: the number of people who move to the UK to live here long term, minus the number who leave. Before 2021, EU+ nationals made up a large part of the UK’s positive net migration. That changed after free movement ended on 31 December 2020 and the new points-based system took effect on 1 January 2021. EU+ net migration fell and became negative from 2022: more EU+ nationals were leaving the UK long term than arriving. Meanwhile, non-EU+ net migration rose sharply. In this year-ending-December series, it was about 100,000 in 2020, then 522,000 in 2021, 981,000 in 2022 and just over 1 million in 2023. That growth more than offset the fall in EU+ migration, so total net migration surged rather than falling after free movement ended. That is to say that we had Brexit, the UK gov set migration policy, and Boris Johnson's Brexit government chose to increase migration, not lower it. And the central point is that ending free movement simply changed where much of the UK’s net migration came from.

Funny how some people immediately assume they were refused entry for wearing a poppy, rather than considering the possibility that the pub simply didn’t want a bunch of aggressive far-right idiots ruining everyone’s afternoon.

The Brexit cat is out of the bag now. Once a Prime Minister openly starts discussing: free movement the Single Market the Customs Union and potentially rejoining the EU there is no putting Brexit back into the box. The argument now is about how far, how fast and on what terms. Britain needs to be at the heart of the EU!

Everton’s problems go far beyond Moyes In or Out. Being a traditionally big club isn’t enough anymore. Success starts off the pitch: smart, sustainable recruitment, clear footballing strategy & strong leadership. The manager matters, but the structure around them matters more.

Dear David, if you want to be more attacking then take a deep breath & try the kid you have on the bench every week who scores goals for fun! Or, stick with the logic that he isn't ready, or he's too small & keep playing a striker who can't hit a barn door from 6 yards away. 😉
