Was thinking this morning of those silly books and author names which made me crack up as a kid.
Fell off a Cliff, by Eileen Dover
That Damned Cat, by Claude Balls
Will it Rain Today in Wales?, by Maude Anne Likely
Anyone got any crackers out there?
My cryptic crosswords are now set being by someone different, and I haven’t got into their mindset at all.
Half of the clues make no sense to me, even when I have the answer right.

Left my wallet on the bus the other day, fell out of my pocket when I was getting gloves out for Roman.
Filled out the bus company’s lost online property form and got a call from Lisa the office manager later that evening.
“Could you confirm the colour of your wallet please?”
I went to pick it up.
Lisa wasn’t about, but a fella came down - “I know all about it he said, come in.”
We went into the office and there was my brown wallet.
I asked him, what colour would you say that was?
“Brown,” he said.
Lisa said it was black, I told him.
Ange is watching Slow Horses.
Not fussed myself, despite the trappings - and Oldman’s great performance - it has all the spy thriller tropes which bore me rigid.
The Jagger theme is excruciating, and all the funnier because parts sound so much like Spinal Tap’s “Big Bottom”.
Bottomless pit.
After a breakfast of a granary bun with a fried egg in it, and a bowl of Greek yogurt with oats, raspberries and bananas, we set out to take the dog for a walk.
“We’d better take some food…” he said.
Lunch followed shortly afterwards.
Ange is in the local paper!
