A call to the Twitter hive mind. Later this week i drive to Walcheren. As such i will pass within a few miles of Cassel and Dunkirk. I only have 2.5hrs to spare each way. Is Cassel worth the effort, and if i go to Dunkirk what should i look for?

I think it was Blake who once wrote 'the man who never changes his opinion is like standing water breeding lizards of the mind'. However, in Andys case i suspect he doesnt know his opinion to start with, just says what gets him through the next door.
What changed, Andy?

Halloween artificial cobweb material: It may be a bit of fake fun for you, but it's a very real and terrifying death for them. And it's not only birds. Last year I had my first call of the season of a hedgehog trapped in this horrific fake 'cobweb', made especially for gullible halloweeners to spread over their greenery, trapping all unsuspecting birds, insects and mammals, including hedgehogs. The fine synthetic fibers are difficult for animals to see and can quickly wrap around their legs, spines, and neck, leading to severe injuries. When a hedgehog struggles to free herself the web tightens, cutting off circulation and causing deep wounds. These constriction injuries often lead to permanent damage or death. Unfortunately the call was from Manchester, so all I could do was talk them through getting the poor creature to a rescue. Clearly she had been trapped there for at least one night, and her struggles had pulled the strong nylon strands so tightly that one of her toes had been amputated. Can you imagine the pain and the sheer terror? And then seeing dawn approach, while hanging there, tightly bound and helpless. Aside from being stressed, dehydrated, starving and exhausted to the point of near death, she also had horrific bite/peck wounds to her face, where she had been held there, helpless, unable to curl and defend herself, while a predator tried to eat her alive. If you have used this deadly cruel trap to 'decorate' your garden, please take it down now. Please don't be conned by the greedy makers and sellers of this rubbish into hurting defenceless animals.

I have reached a point where i am unable to decipher whether somthing is genuine or a parody. A strange metaphore for modern Britain
Tonight, Cardiff Castle will light up green to mark Dwarfism Awareness Day. 💚 The illumination celebrates diversity and helps raise awareness and understanding of dwarfism. orlo.uk/S4Qel

We bemoan the demise of the grumble mag, but there was a time before when you had to make your own fodder to glaze a knuckle over.

So Putin is a Humanitarian. And there was me, still thinking the ICC wanted him in the Hague. The modern world is just so bizarre at the moment.
Steve Witkoff to Putin: You talk so much about my president, President Trump, being a humanitarian. You are a humanitarian also, sir, and I salute that, I commend you, and I thank you again.

If his brother was such a great bloke you would have thought he would allow folk to reply with offers of sympathy and condolences.
My brother was killed at Coagh in 1991. Soldiers were referred to the PPS over operational planning and destruction of evidence. Calling them “brave veterans” answers nothing. Does your rule of law apply to British soldiers, or only to everyone else?

Pete Ryan, brother of the poster, was an IRA East Tyrone Brigade member killed by SAS at Coagh in 1991 en route to assassinate a part-time UDR soldier. Coroner ruled SAS lethal force justified; soldiers referred to PPS over planning and evidence destruction. bbc.co.uk/news/uk-northe… newsletter.co.uk/news/crime/sas…

Imk getting a Ron Burgundy Anchorman vibe where he just reads verbatim whatever is fed to him.
Things go from bad to worse. Trump 🇺🇸 seems to regret that 🇷🇺 didn’t conquer 🇺🇦 immediately, and blame the failure on some incompetent 🇷🇺 general. Who feeds him this strange stuff? Or does he just invent it because he wishes it was so?

Russian tanks did use highways to Kyiv in 2022 and took heavy losses. The main reason the 40-mile convoy failed was it lacked fuel and food. Ukraine blew bridges, flooded the Irpin, and ambushed columns. nbcpalmsprings.com/2025/08/15/fac… rusi.org/explore-our-re… npr.org/2022/03/01/108… mwi.westpoint.edu/urban-warfare-… euronews.com/my-europe/2025…

This probably explains why my timeline for the last 48hrs has been littered with MAGA folk claiming 'Russia is not our enemy/ has been an ally for most or our history'
… in the background of these developments is this: Article III, Section 3 of the Constitution defines treason against the United States as 'levying War against them, or in adhering to their Enemies, giving them Aid and Comfort.' By any objective measure, lifting Russian sanctions is giving aid and comfort to an enemy," Rather argued.

I know we are not supposed to like them, but sometimes you just have to stand and appluad. I am reminded of Lieutenant Colonel Jean Colonna d'Ornano during the Murzuk raid.
French soldiers right now, waiting for the call.

Today has been absolutely mad, and no sign of it easing off.
🇺🇸🇺🇦U.S. General Mike Flynn SLAMS Ukrainian Dictator Volodymyr Zelensky! "Zelensky is the single biggest obstacle to achieving peace in the Ukraine." "Once everyone realizes that, this war will end." Zelensky and all the warmongers are finished.

Another example of the collective insanity headloss that seems endemic across the US of A right now.

Another example of the american ruling classes losing their mind. you know its bad when you have to pause a moment and go back to check its not a parody account before you hit 'post'
Here is the UK openly boasting on X that it can ignore Americans’ First Amendment rights and enforce British censorship on U.S. soil. The GRANITE Act will put a permanent end to this. Foreign censors do not get to rewrite the Constitution.

Trump bots and supporters appear to be in overdrive onmy timeline now. Just my algorythm or is everyone experiencing this?
Patriot missiles should’ve never been given to Ukraine in the first place! They should’ve been sent and used to protect our bases in the Middle East #trump #Ukraine

The amount of apparently US based commentators posting about Zelensky being the cause of high diesel prices is quite remarkable. There appears to be a break out of collective insanity across these classes.
Zelensky's driving up the cost of diesel to weaken Trump ahead of the midterms, in hopes of blackmailing Trump and Musk into forking over the war toys he needs to continue a bloody stalemate This isn't a fight for sovereignty, it's perpetual vassalage to the Epstein Class
