It’s impossible to say that God created the world as good, that human beings every where deserve love, and just sit silently as the world is destroyed and people suffer unjustly. It’s a problematic faith that’s quick to save the soul but disregard the body and planet we live in.

I love that the words “this is my son, whom I love, in him I’m well pleased” is spoken over Jesus before his ministry begins & not after the resurrection. It’s a powerful reminder that God’s love always comes before—& is never contingent—on anything we achieve or accomplish.
