—i feel like ppg is in its final stages of gathering what they need internally, and finally showing signs for us to see that they've been very busy behind the scenes, dealing with rats in their basement.
think about it—imagine you own THE biggest otome in the country, in the world! you WILL have enemies who want what you have. greedier, bigger, richer. china's gaming export overseas has been confirmed as valuable to the government, they themselves said this. these issues can't all have started just as valko was announced, no, this has to be years in the making. the way lads has shown how lucrative this genre can be both to companies and the big bad tax man has GOT to be attractive to all parties involved—ofc everyone wants a piece of the pie!
now imagine you introduce a new expansion of your game and there's a sudden smear campaign rushing in, creating false narratives and involving government attention for a game that you're developing w an adamant drive to push through your country's already strict censorship laws—do you risk the entire game and all the efforts you've made toward building this empire, or do you cease operations and get to work on dealing w the root of the issue first?
bc here's what i think: if it's true that this is truly the work of outside competitors, ppg only had a single path to follow and yes, that meant not only at Their expense, but Ours as well.
and to think that ppg WANTED this is absurd. imo, their backs were pressed against the wall during that time.
there's no doubt in my mind that they've been thoroughly investigating the incident this entire time, gathering evidence and quantifying their losses at all angles. i know it sucks and hurts to see them continue posting things that could've and SHOULD'VE involved valko, but do you rly think a company who's been hit THIS hard in their pockets that they'd just continue operations w no intention of mitigating any of the damages caused? they HAD to continue without valko in the way they have. they're still a business at the end of the day, and providing a service—one ppl pay BIG for!
now imagine you're 4 months into this incident. shit's still flying in the fandom, you're steadily making up for losses with short-term adjustments—it isn't what you're used to, that's for damn sure, but it's standard mitigation procedure; a company is a company, after all.
but you have evidence of foulplay. evidence of the causation of dire revenue loss as a result. you've strengthened your legal team, and you've advised that action WILL be taken. not a warning. a promise.
all i'm saying is what many have been saying this whole time: where concerns are for the company to action, leave it to them.
what we can do is also what we've been saying this whole time: keep your foot on their neck. show them evidence of what the game now looks like without valko. the hurt that this smear campaign has caused upon them these last 4 months.

1. in 2024, PPG filed a lawsuit against Archosaur Games, the publisher of SW, for trademark infringement. AG had used registered trademarks like Shining Nikki, Infinity Nikki, and Miracle Nikki as search keywords in WeChat ads to promote their game Life Makeover. PPG won that case in 2025.
the legal post doesn't directly name AG, but the implication is enough. the third screenshot mentions the original case, and the details are the same. according to PPG, the same companies attempted to sue them in September 2025, December 2025, and October 2026. each lawsuit was withdrawn.
