If you ever feel like the world would be better off without you, remember Jeremiah 29:11. God didn’t wake you up this morning by accident. Your story isn’t over. Your purpose hasn’t expired. And no matter how heavy life gets, God is not finished with you yet. As long as there’s breath in your lungs, there’s still a purpose for your life.

Absolutely, life in the balance is a fallacy, it’s purpose driven.
Desire for balance is the mislabeled recognition that how you’re living doesn’t fulfill you. Balance won’t fix that. The fix isn’t complex but it is deeper than “better balance”.

Not knowing what you don’t know doesn’t make you knowledgeable on the subject.

There are things that you do and there are things that you don’t do. The problem is….the list of things that you don’t do has gotten much smaller.

Dr. Sean McDowell gave the message again this week at Grace Family Church. He addressed the question “If God is real and God is good, then why do bad things happen?” Many people can’t believe in God because of the suffering they see in the world. How does a Christian answer that question? His point: Evil is what comes when good gets corrupted. So where does “good” come from? Who decides what’s right and what’s wrong? That standard has to come from God. God is powerful enough to stop evil and He will—at the end of the world. But God can’t force us to do good and not do anything evil because He has given us free will. Why would a good God allow pain and suffering? Because we do have free will and sometimes pain can be God’s megaphone to a deaf world.

Be careful confusing collaboration with constant togetherness. At high levels of sport, staffs spend a disproportionate amount of time together. But being close in proximity doesn’t automatically equate to collaboration. A staff can communicate constantly while still working in silos. Real collaboration requires creating opportunities for people to contribute their expertise, challenge one another’s thinking, connect ideas across departments, and solve shared problems together. The schedule may create proximity, but you have to intentionally create the collaboration.

"A lot of what is called 'public service' consists of making hoops for other people to jump through. It is a great career for those who cannot feel fulfilled unless they are telling other people what to do." — Thomas Sowell

Thomas Sowell on the absurdity of expecting equal outcomes in a society where people differ in countless ways: “Trying to explain inequality is like trying to explain why people don’t flap their arms and fly. There was never any reason to expect people to fly and there was never any reason to expect people’s performances to be equal, when there are innumerable influences at work differently for each individual and group.”
