Step 1: Remove filters in Reflecting Pool because Obama put them in.
Step 2: Give your criminal neighbor who runs "Greenwater Services" a $20 million no-bid contract to paint the pool.
Step 3: Fill the pool with water from the Potomac River, the phosphates from which cause algae blooms.
Step 4: Freshly sealed pool and extreme heat result in a super scum event
Step 5: Direct National Park Service to dump hydrogen peroxide into the pool which causes the paint to peel.
Step 5: Deploy US National Guard to stop people from taking photos of the swamp as a perfect metaphor for the administration.
Step 6: Blame someone else.

Obviously I'm a little biased since I edited this thing but that a story about a killed criminal investigation into a sitting senator wasn't picked up, followed & pushed forward by major outlets is an excellent & sorry illustration of our broken information environment.
This should be on the front page of every newspaper in America.
Trump’s DOJ just shut down a federal investigation into a coal company owned by Sen. Jim Justice, one of his closest allies, after it racked up tens of thousands of alleged violations for dumping dangerous chemicals into our waterways. A veteran federal prosecutor with 24 years on the job said he had never seen anything like it.
The man who killed the case was Todd Blanche, Trump’s former personal defense lawyer and current Acting Attorney General. This is the same guy who just gave Trump, his family, and his companies permanent immunity from IRS audits. Now Trump wants the Senate to make Blanche’s appointment permanent too.
Equal justice under law was never supposed to come with exceptions for the President’s friends.
The pattern isn’t subtle: protect Trump’s friends, prosecute his critics, and get rewarded with more power. That is corruption, plain and simple. Todd Blanche must not be confirmed.

Tulsi Gabbard was apparently even more insane than anyone realised, which is somewhat of an achievement.
A resounding slow clap for all her dimwitted boosters, with a particularly dishonourable mention for @MeghanMcCain.
This is an utterly insane story: 25,000 documents reviewed by WaPo indicate that throughout Tulsi's career, her political moves were controlled by her guru, cult leader Chris Butler.
This woman was leading the world's largest intelligence apparatus.

I repeat: “Donald Trump” is a mythological creation of “Apprentice” boss Mark Burnett: a “Successful Businessman who is Very Strong & says ‘You’re Fired.’”
The reflecting pool fiasco reveals perfectly who he really is: a corrupt, incompetent dolt who bankrupted 6 casinos.

Extraordinary new reporting from @jonswaine convincingly shows that for years, Tulsi Gabbard's guru, Chris Butler, and disciples around him have been steering her policy agenda, writing her public remarks, and shaping her as a political candidate.

Gentile privately indicated Father Frank Mann was paid.
EDNY prosecutors opened an investigation into the commutation.

The Newsom case has one detail worth pulling out.
Trump was asked, on the record, whether he would have Newsom arrested. "I would." That quote already meets the legal threshold federal courts have historically demanded for showing vindictive intent, which is why Newsom's FOIA filing the same day his investigation was announced is a more serious counter-move than it looks. He is not really trying to get the records. He is forcing a court to either release them or rule the investigation itself is real.
Wehle's three steps matter. Snyder's framing of the Poland 2023 and Hungary 2026 restorations matters more. In both, the opposition won by campaigning on a clear pledge to prosecute officials who broke the law for the prior regime. That pledge was the deterrent. Whether November is still a real election partly depends on whether the people running the targeting believe they will face accountability later.
Make sure they understand they will.
Instead of sitting back and accepting vindictive prosecutions from the Administration, here are a few ways politicians have been fighting back.

Under Obama, responsible people carefully studied the problem, sought best solutions - and failed.
Under Trump, irresponsible people imposed a hasty solution that enriched inept cronies - and failed even more spectacularly.

Here’s the thing: this is not just an Alabama problem. It’s a Republican Party problem. From the moment he answered a call from Donald Trump on January 6. From the moment he couldn’t name the three branches of government when questioned by a reporter. Through a series of embarrassing statements and obedience to Trump even when it was against the interests of the people, he was elected to serve, Alabama Senator Tommy Tuberville has demonstrated a lack of fitness. Now he wants to be governor, but he doesn’t even live in the state. Read this summary of the detailed evidence in the complaint that shows how he himself has established that he’s a Florida man not in Alabama man. Sure it’s funny and in some ways, an entertaining read— why he thought he could get away with it after leaving a paper trail like this is beyond me. But it’s also important to understand just how low this Republican Party is willing to go to keep power. And to talk about it with your friends and family as we approach one of the most important elections of our lives this November. Read here to be informed. open.substack.com/pub/joycev…

#BREAKING: NYC Mayor Mamdani: “People often ask me what I think of the state of the Democratic Party? This slate here today is our answer. The Democratic Party must change. They tend to follow that question with another. Who do you want to run in 2028? Then they ask, when does the race for 2028 begin? It starts now. It starts on Tuesday. It starts when we reject a politics that believes in polls more than principles. It starts when we realize that politics, one that waits for political convenience, will never feel the urgency to address the people’s inconvenience.” ✊✊

WCGW - The Surgeon General of Florida just announced ALL VACCINE MANDATES IN FLORIDA will be ENDED; thus allowing: polio, whooping cough, influenza, etc,,
When the illusion finally shatters, what remains isn't disappointment,it's humiliation.
The man you poured your faith into was never a visionary, never a savior, never even remotely exceptional.
He was a hollow fraud wrapped in ego, fueled by noise, and sustained by endless self-promotion.
Every boast, every grand promise, every display of swagger crumbles the instant reality enters the room.
What looked like confidence was arrogance.
What looked like strength was insecurity.
What looked like leadership was little more than a carefully marketed illusion.
Scratch beneath the surface and there's no hidden brilliance, no master strategist, no misunderstood genius. Just an impulsive, self-absorbed figure stumbling from one failure to the next, desperately trying to drown incompetence in a torrent of bluster and spectacle.
In the end, the strongman image collapses into exactly what it always was: cheap theater.
A gaudy performance.
A caricature masquerading as leadership.
A salesman peddling an image he could never live up to.
And the hardest part isn't watching the act fall apart.
It's realizing how long you applauded it, defended it, and mistook obvious bullshit for substance.....
