Focus on the window with the earth and moon in the blurry background and bringing it into focus is cinema.
Only one chance in this lifetime…
Like watching sunset at the beach from the most foreign seat in the cosmos, I couldn’t resist a cell phone video of Earthset. You can hear the shutter on the Nikon as @Astro_Christina is hammering away on 3-shot brackets and capturing those exceptional Earthset photos through the 400mm lens. @AstroVicGlover was in window 3 watching with @Astro_Jeremy next to him.
I could barely see the Moon through the docking hatch window but the iPhone was the perfect size to catch the view…this is uncropped, uncut with 8x zoom which is quite comparable to the view of the human eye. Enjoy.

TIL the verb is “summonsed”, I always thought it was “summoned” which would have been arguably more exciting

By popular request, I've now open sourced the exact dimensions of the evolved Carpentopod's linkage system. So feel free to use it for your own projects! decarpentier.nl/carpentopod
Lovely
I will give a talk at #SIGGRAPH2024 about a new way of evaluating #Bezier #curves that I call Seiler's Interpolation, using half the linear interpolations of #deCasteljau's algorithm. I built an interactive demo: cemyuksel.com/research/seile…
See the extended abstract for the details.

You all can't believe how much this means to me.
I've been working on this for such a long time.
Still cannot believe it's finally working.
It's finally happening: we have a launch date!
Live++ for PlayStation®5 will arrive on April 29, 2024.
We also want to take this opportunity to thank the brilliant people from @sn_systems for their fantastic support over the years.

Great working with @CorridorDigital to bring the legendary Sodium Vapor Matting process back to life in their latest video. It really is a better way to pull mattes for visual effects compositing than greenscreen. #visualeffects #virtualproduction youtube.com/watch?v=UQuIVsNz…

I wrote a blog post about DX12 Copy Queues. It's about a problem that most games won't need to care about, but it's short and I've added images.

It was great talking to Alex with the Nixxes crew and Jeremy about porting the #HorizonForbiddenWest to PC. We appreciate the opportunity and hope you find it a fun read!

A really good article about physical light units:

We are currently implementing a PBR pipeline at HypeHype. Using physical lighting units from the beginning will save a lot of hassle down the road.
