What does being a pro in Europe really mean? Many D1/D2 teams in the Balkans and Greece have D2-level facilities and travel by bus. Players often play for their lunch. No surprise many who become elite in Europe are hardworking mid-major guys, not P4 stars.
I understand the frustration, but let’s put things in perspective. Ellis spent four years in Italy’s D2 earning around $20K a year, then two years in D1, possibly earning more with Armani last year. How much would a starting player on a P4 .500 team make in 3 years?

Samodurov had a solid debut, especially in the 2nd half. Quick quick release, and plenty of room to grow in the post and PnR/short roll. Only played 3 mins with Neo, that chemistry could unlock a lot more. #unc
Neo had 15 points, 9 rebs and 5 asts and he had a quiet night. Cool.
Initial UNC/USC thoughts:
-Quiet night from the law firm of Brown, Able & Avdalas…still scored 88 & 50+ in the 2H
-Big double-double from Jarin Stevenson…he’s the best option at the 5
-Keita & Samodurov’s raw ability were on display…but w/o Cameron Fens…UNC needs them to grow & develop
-Maximo Adams will be an impactful player all season long
-Can’t understate how different Denis looks while now healthy. Instant offense off the bench for Michael Malone
Couldn’t ask for a better result in Malone’s unofficial debut. USC will be a NCAAT team, and we’re down 3 impactful players tonight. A lot to build upon. A lot to improve upon. Next up? Indiana next Sunday. TAR!
