Can't say I ever realized this before today: while Luke Hochevar was an absolute bust as a #1 overall draft pick, he holds one notable distinction: The former Fort Worth Cat was the first former @AA_Baseball player to go on to play for a World Series champion

The Fargo-Moorhead RedHawks need a new manager and it's a job sure to attract considerable interest due to their long history of success. Who will be considered? We don't know, but here are seven names to keep an eye on: aabaseballfan.com/could-one-…

MASSIVE news that I'm not sure anyone saw coming. Congrats on a great run for Coster! 🫡🫡
After seven seasons as RedHawks manager, Chris Coste has decided to step down from his role, effective immediately. While we are saddened to see him go, we fully support Chris' decision and want to say a huge thank you for his time as a RedHawks player, coach and manager! 📰 fmredhawks.com/chris-coste-s…

In 2021, Cam Booser signed with @TheChicagoDogs after 3 years (nearly 4) out of the game as a 29-year-old who had never been above High-A. His journey to being a pivotal bullpen piece on the AL’s best team truly began in the @AA_Baseball
“A handful of years ago I wasn't in the game. So now I have an opportunity to play the most meaningful baseball I've ever played with the best group of guys I've ever been around.” What a journey it's been for @RaysBaseball LHP Cam Booser ❤️ #MLBTonight | @MelanieLynneN

Winnipeg gets a taste of Banana Ball next August after Lincoln, Sioux Falls, and Fargo all hosted last year. Kansas City and Milwaukee both have hosted previously, so that makes 6 @AA_Baseball parks to host Banana Ball

🧵This was NOT a good year at the gate for the minor league baseball, though the MLB Partner Leagues were hit the hardest. The AA had the smallest drop of the four this year, though it was still down 7.5% @indyballpod @IndyBallNation @indyballinsider @IndyBallDugout

As for the Frontier League, only 4 of 18 teams went up. Outside of Ottawa's record-breaking season, it was a pretty bleak year, with SEVEN teams falling by over 10 percent and a lot of boat anchors piling up. The league was down 9.2% as a whole

And the Pioneer League. Great Falls actually had their best total of the independent era...and no one else went up. Two Cali expansion teams didn't do very well at the gate either, drawing only about 70% of what the two teams they replaced did in '25. League average down 11.8%

Crunched the numbers and here's approximately how much travel every @AA_Baseball team has lined up for next season. Did my best to factor in commuters and likely off-day stopovers, but yeah, here's the gist of it.

Noted this in the just-posted article, but having September 7-25 shaded for the playoffs is interesting. With 10 teams, three rounds of playoffs just doesn't make much sense anymore, but it looks like we're keeping it. Though this is the only clue so far suggesting that

One thing not surprising: Kansas City moves to the East. One thing that IS surprising: if my math is right, the AA is moving from 100 to 102 games. May 7 will also be the earliest Opening Day in @AA_Baseball history

It's not Lexington Counter Clocks, but it's still a little clunky and just didn't seem like a necessary rebrand?
Introducing the Ozarks Springbirds. The ballclub formerly known as the Springfield Cardinals based in Springfield, MO has a new name, logos and uniforms and will continue to serve as the proud Double-A affiliate of the St. Louis Cardinals. The new name and logos were created with three things in mind: Our City, Our Region and Our Birds, creating a new identity for Southwest Missouri to rally around.
