Exactly right. Here's another look at racial disparities between students in 12th grade and UC first-years (never mind our graduate and professional schools) - stark and undeniable. This is the legacy of Prop 209, and to minimize and shift the focus is really something else.

Apples and oranges. Better comparison is between 12th grade enrollment and UC new freshman enrollment. The disparities are striking.
