New forensic evidence in the Jeremy Bamber case points to suicide not murder but "it has already taken the CCRC four years to consider less than half the evidence that Bamber has submitted to it". theguardian.com/uk-news/ng-i…

The government is to introduce legislation to remove privileges from convicted killers who refuse to attend their sentencing. Lucy Letby's name is strangely absent from the press release despite her case being the trigger for new legislation. 1/2 gov.uk/government/news/cowar…

We are now ready to start sharing more on our investigation into air embolism - and whether it can really be relied on as the way #lucyletby murdered seven babies. More follows tonight.

Andy Burnham has just made an outrageous statement at PMQs, potentially one of the worst gaffes I have ever witnessed from a Prime Minister.
He has presumed Joshua Kerry guilty of murdering Ann Widdecombe before he has even stood trial, live on national TV, for a global audience to witness.
These were his exact words, “could I start just by recognising, with the charges that have been laid against the individual responsible for the murder of Ann Widdecombe”
Read that again.
He didn't say the individual accused of her murder.
He said the individual responsible for her murder.
Whatever your views on Joshua Kerry, the public does not know all the facts. That is precisely why we have criminal trials.
A man is innocent until proven guilty. That principle applies to everyone, without exception.
Yet the Prime Minister of the United Kingdom has just publicly spoken as though a man awaiting trial has already been convicted of murder.
For Andy Burnham to make such a serious error while discussing matter involving ongoing legal proceedings is deeply concerning.

Caroline Cheetham spent months on the Daily Mail’s Lucy Letby podcast telling the public the police case was overwhelming.
At the same time her company was taking nearly £24,000 from the very same police force including payments for “publicity” made while the trial was still running.
She never disclosed it.
The Mail says it didn’t even know.
She was being paid by the police while presenting their version of events as independent journalism.
That’s not a conflict of interest. That’s a joke.

No joke! Caroline Cheetham was secretly working as a police publicist while pretending to be a neutral journalist covering the Lucy Letby trial
There is no universe in which a journalist covering a trial should be secretly getting paid by the police force whose case is on trial

She was literally working as a paid police shill while pretending to be a journalist.
And the @DailyMail are okay with this, even though they now know Caroline Cheetham lied to them. Disgraceful.

Channel Four News has an excellent podcast providing daily coverage of the Russell Brand trial.
Bonus points: its podcaster didn't get caught secretly taking "publicity" payments from a police force she was meant to be covering neutrally as a journalist.

I could be grossly overthinking it but I wonder if his points around if one of a multitude of proposed causes of death is found unsafe the conviction must fall is part of a plan to force the CoA's hand on the Letby case.
Could be overthinking though.
For anyone interested in the safety of the Lucy Letby conviction read this thread as it may have a significant impact on any appeal she may have.
1/ The SC is hearing the Ben Field case today and as envisaged Lord Leggatt is all over the CPS who have now conceded the weak swimmer point doesn't apply here. The CPS also rely on the #LucyLetby case and a point Lord Leggatt made (not about Lucy's case) may spell trouble for
If you’ve missed Lord Leggatt who wrote my judgement here he is doing his thing again in a really interesting case.

You must be in a different orbit to those of us who understand this case from a medical perspective.
If Ms Letby is guilty, based on what has been revealed, then every patient who collapses or deteriorates in any critical care environment must be the subject of a forensic examination to look for malfeasance.

Every single “star” in Professor @James_Treadwell’s “constellation” has turned out to mean far less than it seemed.
It is like that Spike Milligan poem:
Twinkle, twinkle little star
I’ve just found out what you are
A lump of rusting rocket case
A rubbish tip—in outer space.
What are we all missing here? What level of evidence would make James Treadwell reassess? Does none of the following suffice?
1. The Medical Experts: 14 international experts in neonatology and other medical disciplines led by Dr Shoo Lee, who literally wrote the paper on air embolism used in court, have challenged the prosecution's medical claims. They have concluded death by natural causes and suboptimal care in every infant.
2. Dr Dewi Evans has since publicly walked back his theory about air via NG tubes, despite Lucy Letby serving whole life tariffs for murder by this method, and no post-mortems actually found venous air embolisms.
3. Flawed Statistics: Leading statisticians have shown the "shift chart" used to frame her as the common denominator was completely misleading, as it cherry-picked events where she was present.
4. The Insulin Claims: Zero evidence Letby administered insulin, no missing stock, tamper-proof bags, and she wasn't even on shift when Baby F’s replacement bag was hung.
5. Eyewitness and post- it notes re- examination: Dr Jayaram’s key evidence on Baby K was contradicted by his own contemporaneous email showing Letby actually called for help. And top forensic psychologist Prof. Gisli Gudjonsson submitted evidence to the CCRC showing the Post-it notes reflect extreme distress, not genuine confessions.
If all of the above isn’t enough to open your mind and re-consider Lucy Letby’s guilty conviction, help me understand what would be? What else would you need?

🚨I can reveal there was crucial disinformation injected into Andy Burnham’s Makerfield election campaign.
He told the voters of Makerfield (who overwhelmingly voted for Brexit), that he would not "re-run" Brexit arguments.
That he was NOT proposing the UK considers rejoining the EU.
Having won that election on that basis, he is now doing the very thing he promised not to do.
So @andyburnham, is this also “Russian interference”, or are you just a self-serving liar?
