A global community. A shared purpose.
In her welcome address at #ACRM2026 in Washington, D.C., ACRM President @fofiConstant celebrated the people and perspectives that bring our rehabilitation community together.
As ACRM’s first President based outside North America, she highlighted our global reach and shared commitment to improving the lives of people of all abilities through rehabilitation research, education, and advocacy.
For 103 years, ACRM has connected researchers, clinicians, healthcare professionals, people with lived experience, and partners across disciplines and borders to advance rehabilitation science.
With the United States marking its 250th anniversary, her message in the nation’s capital reflected on values at the heart of our community: unity, respect for diversity, collaboration, and resilience.
These values guide the science we share, the ideas we explore, and the connections we build at this conference and beyond.
Together, we continue moving rehabilitation research into practice and improving lives.

The model examines how cognitive, emotional, and personal factors may influence rehabilitation engagement. Further research is needed.
